"dried up dykes"

Yup. We're totally going to take what you have to say seriously after that.

Better safe than sorry! Most people trying to mess with reporters on the street are not Erykah Badu!

Yes, because it takes hours to type her name into a search engine and read the little blurb that Wikipedia spits out. Computers are hard.

How is Greg Kelly, who openly ogled a female reporter, still working?

That 'assclown' has Grammies and is quite a legend in the R&B world.

Well, she's been around for decades, and I listened to her in college (and I'm not black). Just because you don't know who she is doesn't mean Americans are just out here being unreasonable. American site, writing article about American incident involving American celebrity. You may not know who she is, but that

Dude I am whiter than white and I have all of her old albums.. The woman is a musical legend.

This really isn't about male vs. female privilege. If it had actually been a random crazy lady harassing the reporter people wouldn't be so dismissive. The issue here is celebrity privilege. If Justin Timberlake wore a comical hat and tried to kiss a woman news reporter on air, people would also laugh and call it

Only Jill Scott is Jill Scott. Only Erykah Badu is Erykah Badu. Thankfully we don't have to choose! <3 both of these women.

Nah, if there's one person who doesn't give even a half fuck about fame or face time, it's Badu. She's just really weird and goofy and probably thought it was hilarious. She's an icon and will always be relevant, just maybe not in your culture.

You may recognize "On and On", that was a pretty big hit off of her first album. She was one of the big names of the neo-soul movement of the late 90's. The first album Baduizm was fantastic, I haven't been too impressed with anything I've heard by her after that.

Last few years? Try 20 at the very least.

I highly recommend Janelle Monae's songs that feature her to get you started. Also, if you don't know who Janelle Monae is, then you're in for a double treat. Look up "Q.U.E.E.N." It's an unbelievably awesome and dangerously catchy song.

Just because YOU don't know someone doesn't mean they can't have quite the significant position in whatever their field. I know absolutely nothing about basketball but I wouldn't make a comment like that about a basketball player because of that.

haha touché

she's not new. I am a huge fan of her music, and you can't be more old, white and out of touch than me.

She's not a new artist. She's been around for well over a decade. You said that it must be a slow news day because Jez wrote a story featuring someone you'd never heard of. This is a celebrity news site (among other things) it doesn't make it a slow news day if they feature something kind of funny/kind of weird that

Well you should, seriously no sarcasm at all, google her. If you like music or happiness or talent, then Erykah Badu for the win. I'm a 100% positive you won't though which makes me sad for you.

Your loss. Erykah is awesome.

Someone who is trying to not be kissed by a stranger.
