You should make egg nog cheesecake. That’s my Christmas Eve dessert...

You’ll love it without the whites. It’s denser and more...pumpkiny. ;)

Large seasoned croutons, chunked bagels dried in the oven, pretzels, cinnamon twists, apples, lots of things you can dip or spread on depending on what you’ve added to your butter. :)

I’ll have to try this after the holidays for just the two of us before I spring it on the family with a whole bone in rib roast. But I will definitely try it!

Nope, never, ever look a gift horse in the mouth. Never...

While you can make it with either/or, this is by far the very best pumpkin pie recipe I have ever made. Foolproof, perfect every single time and everyone absolutely loves it.

Yeah, I’m a champagne drinker regardless of what’s being served. I even enjoy it in the evening in front of the fireplace. It’s not just for special occasions :)

I took my 21 pound turkey out of the freezer last Friday which would have been what, the 19th, and put it in the fridge. Seeing as the best temp for the fridge is 39 degrees and that’s what mine is set at, when I took it out to check it yesterday, I had a 21 pound ball of ice still. Out came the inside of my Nesco, I

Wait! Do I have to wait until Thanksgiving for Champagne?

Turkey has been defrosting in the fridge since Friday (21 pounds), if it’s not complete, it will finish in the brine starting Wednesday morning, I’ll make my pies Tuesday, my mashed potatoes Wednesday, I’ll get my Green Bean Casserole ready on Wednesday as well but that goes in the slow cooker on Thursday morning. The

LOL! Well, I did start them about that age with things they could do where they wouldn’t lose an arm, but yeah, in this case, it’s the oven and really, it’s not that old! So here comes the proverbial, just don’t make them like they used to comment...

My family loves it too. Makes my teeth hurt.

I am a midwesterner, born and bred and it’s still disgusting, no matter now you make it. Sorry.

I’m just hoping my 7 year old oven decides to work. We’ve replaced the termister twice as well as the control panel twice. I really don’t want to replace an appliance at Thanksgiving, but it never seems to fail that every time one of my appliances takes a dump, it’s almost always at the most expensive time of the

I actually do double layer cheesecloth over my turkey while it’s in the oven until the last hour and a half, so the legs and breast don’t dry out, and it holds the basting liquid against the skin much better than letting it all roll off. The last hour or hour and a half, I pull the cheesecloth off and the skin browns

Can’t do it. I just can’t. Even when I was a kid. I had a little spoonful when I was a little kid and that was enough to last a lifetime. You’d think I’d like it because it was so sweet, but ugh. Nope. And I like sweet! Just not this.

I kept wondering why people raved about it because it’s so bad, it makes me gag. Then I finally read a couple articles on why it tastes so bad to some people. Same reason I’m not a big celery leaf fan or coriander either. I don’t care for parsley much either though I can stand a bit of it but it still leaves a yucky

It does, really. It’s got vanilla, alcohol and water. And a 16oz bottle there is $35 give or take, depends on the market rate. I do keep a small bottle of Nutty Mountain Clear Vanilla during the holidays for cheesecakes and buttercream frostings, but that stuffs expensive so it’s the only time I use it.

Unfortunately, I’m in a very rural area and we’re pretty much forgotten out here as far as Costco, Sam’s, Aldi’s, Whole Foods or anything else really, is concerned. Since there’s only two of us, it’s not cost effective to buy the membership and drive an hour and a half for just a couple things because we’d never use
