What? Where’s Roc? Where are my En Vogue fans at?!
What? Where’s Roc? Where are my En Vogue fans at?!
I have literally been talking to my friends about this for years.
“Oh! I hope The Zeta Project will show up on DVD so I can see it since I missed it when it was on TV.”
It did not.
“Oh! I hope The Zeta Project will be on the new DC Universe streaming service.”
It was not.
“Oh! I hope The Zeta Project will be on HBO Max.”

I agree with you. But what I imagine happening instead is this:
WB1: People really love that Black Leopard thing!
WB2: Panther, sir.
WB3: Panther, Jaguar, whatever! We need to beat it!
WB4: What have we got?
WB2: (rattles off list of African & African-American heroes.)
WB1: Wait, what was that last one?
WB2: Uh, Vixen, sir?
WB…
I second the nomination of Barbara Ann Minerva, aka the Cheetah!
In my family, who made the sweet potato pie was more important than the macaroni, but only slightly. Beyond that, your description was perfect!
What do I want from Star Trek: Discovery? The same things that I want from every iteration of Star Trek.
I want optimism. Not blind optimism, of course. No, I want intelligent, creative, and hard working people to confront problems head on and to solve them. I want the message that our current problems will be solved…
Jonny Lee Miller.
Seriously, people. Plus, if we had *my* druthers, not only would we have that. We would get Reed (Miller), Strange (Cumberbatch), & Stark (Downey Jr) all in a room together. They would have a group reaction to an event and Stan Lee would say, “no s**t, Sherlock!”
Thank you. This is exactly what I was hoping someone would post.
Best analysis I have seen so far! I loved hearing from all of you. Thank you for sharing.
This saddens me. I have been buying all three of the Ta-Nahisi Coates Black Panther books and enjoying them thoroughly. I will admit that I have not promoted this most recent book to my friends because I like to finish a storyline & see what the flavor is like first. How can I make a good recommendation if I do not…
I just read this book a few months ago. They have no gender most of the time. They only gain male or female traits when it is time to reproduce. And someone who is female at one time might be male at another.
But even this is a simplification. The entire book is fascinating and covers a great deal more than any…
Honestly, I am a bit disappointed by that. I think it would be more interesting to find that Greedo was an actual threat and a decent (possibly even superlative) bounty hunter. No need to make him bumbling. In fact, making Greedo awesome just increases the effect of Han overcoming him.
I’m sad to hear about Marvel’s plans, but pleased with DC. I have been using the current Marvel structure of digital copy with the hard copy to share comics with my daughters. Depending on the comic, one of us would keep the physical book, while the other would use the code and put it in their Comixology account. Then…
Does anyone else get a “Thing Ring do your thing” vibe from that catchphrase?
This makes me sad. But at least we still have Give Me Liberty.
And your response reminds me of how Cerebus changed after Dave Sim divorced his wife. It went from being a fun send-up of sword & sorcery, pop culture, religion, and government into something more misogynistic and unpleasant.
I do not know if I have ever seen it portrayed this way in the comics, but ever since I was a teenager I have imagined Mr Mxyzptlk in the following way. He’s doodling.
I mean it. He is a being who exists in five spatial dimensions, right? So, as far as he is concerned, Superman and everyone in DC Comics is even flatter…
I need to re-read Martha Washington Goes to War. I have not read it since it came out. I remember not enjoying it as much as the original, but I have forgotten all of the details.
I’m not sure it has been wallpapered so much as forgotten. It is hard to even find a copy these days. I am sure that a lot of people just have not heard of it.
Am I the only one who sees Sauron in this?
Seriously. Ever since the emotional spectrum was introduced, I thought about Tolkien’s poem:
“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the land of…
*Almost* every project. I am still hoping that someday he will go back to things like Give Me Liberty or Martha Washington Goes to War. Remember when he was doing miniseries with a strong, intelligent, minority female protagonist?
