Sounds like Valorant just isn’t for you, lol.

I’d argue the game design and the way competitive Pokemon functions, grinding is very much NOT the spirit of the games. If anything, like many flaws with Pokemon games over the years, it’s a JRPG traditions they’ve held onto for the sake of.
It’s mostly because a lot of the “esport” of Pokemon, is primarily a US thing. Hence why there is also so many more US entries than anyone else.
And that’s stupid. If they completely eliminated hacking from the sport, the idea that you need to grind the game in order to engage in the actual strategy part of the game... is still stupid.
The flaw with this statement, is what actually constitutes at being “good” at competitive Pokémon is completely unrelated to the in-game grind.
It’s a good game, I highly recommend it! There’s a “new” character and a balance patch releasing on the 24th that’s gonna shake it up a lot too.
That’s not even a fair comparison, lol. This is a video game and the competition is based around a set of builds that the entire community is copy+pasting.
The same as the connection between Pokemon and Burger King. Or Rick and Morty and McDonalds Szechuan Sauce. Or Transformers and Fortnite.
I mean part of that, is because a lot of gamers aren’t consuming news and controversy about gaming.

But why not though? There’s no precedent for these works to be free either. The only reason free was even standard, was because the origins of these types of works stem from much smaller communities.
Technically illegal to profit from, but most IP holders don’t pursue for a number of reasons that would come back to bite them negatively.
I mean people get paid for fanart and other creations they make of properties that aren’t their own, so I don’t see the difference. At the end of the day, it takes hours of peoples time make these things. If they want to give out their work for free, that should be looked at as a creators being gracious.
I mean if you were running an event, would you rather:
A. Do something that protects you’re staff and community.
The biggest issue with this solution is that a lot of people’s convention choices are specifically dictated by geography. So for convention goers with enough mula to travel, that’s fine, but for everyone else who can’t?
Like the entire state of Florida isn’t just shit people, so it’s not exactly equitable to be punish…
Some(all?) of my favorite moves as a kid, just don’t hold any water as an adult. But I still have really good memories either way.
I think looking at it as “toys in a toybox” thing is actually the exact appeal. My friends that play Fortnite don’t view it as “I’m X character” it’s more like “my collection of skins/emotes is an expression of my personality/tastes” in game. Which is kind of how most people approach skins in gaming, right?
Still very w…
I think the funniest thing is when Trey and Matt(and the writers) make a regretful hindsight comment every once in awhile for accidently fueling the fire in whatever right-wing hot topic was popular, at the time.
It becomes very clearly there isn’t any “craft” to the writing. They’re just doing what they thing will get…
My disagreement with this take, is I think the PvP aspect was alreadt good. I don’t see their venture into PvE as some kind of cover for PvP’s issues. I see it as them making a solid structure they no longer have to iterate on with PvP and shifting focus to another layer they can add to the game itself. Which is why…
Well I think contextually, one thing that Overwatch had going for it compared to other shooters of the time, were really strong characters, and story/background that the fans were clawing and begging to get more of. And PvE modes are great for that.
And considering they dropped the ball on engaging with the lore(as…
