This video seems so over-the-top-eroticized, like- did you not notice that it’s Ciara? She could be sitting on a couch wearing a dirty t-shirt and Cheeto dust and still be amazingly hot. You don’t have to work so hard, with the shallow pool and the endless negligees and so on.

I’m 56 soon and I want a Barbie house. I don’t need an Emmy, though. Awards mean award shows, the attending of which negates any good film or TV you did.

That's why I watch it. I get some wine, I eat something called snack dinner, and I watch Empire. I love campy, soapy drama. This has the added bonus of pretty black people.

I really don’t get this sort of reaction. His income and prestige are based on ratings, ratings depend on your show of course but also on buzz. Once upon a time, being nominated for an Emmy created that buzz and a new show not getting a lot of nominations was a huge blow and a missed opportunity to have your cast…

Yups. The fact that the only nom was for Taraji sounds exactly right.

I love Empire! But even I have to admit it’s soapy and deliciously over-the-top. Certainly Henson was a stand-out and and deserves a nomination. Maybe Terrence Howard, depending on the competition field. Not sure any of the other performances deserve a first season nod, even if I did enjoy the show.
