I’ve spent time in Europe as well and people forgot how much smaller and denser Europe is. Germany is 1/2 the size of Texas with 3x the population, that makes rail way more doable.
Oddly the bfh approach works and is nearly as satisfying.
Hub U joint. Been there done that. Might as well refresh the whole front end while you’re there. Control arms, ball joints, and tie rods are cheap on rock Auto and you can upgrade to the zj tie rods for the same cost. Plus you preemptively fix the death wobble.
They can, their size is similar to the supercars, but with narrower tires and more weight the stock cars would be at a decided disadvantage.
Hey now... *checks garage, realizes it’s heavy, massive, and complicated* we dream in HP per lb of boost?
I never got the hp/l argument. It fortunately seems to have died off, for the most part, in automotive discussions. HP/lbs or HP/$ are way more applicable arguments. How do the twins do when you look at it that way? Is a twin lighter or more compact for its displacement than an I4? Kinda like the LS vs the world…
Yeah I got a chuckle out of the Tavarish style “Why get this new appliance car when for the same money I can get this used luxury money furnace?”. SIL was extremely proud when she bought a mid 2000's XC90 with Yamaha V8 and AWD because “It cost less than my Kia!”. Fortunately she totaled it *without injury* a week…
People forget the edge is essentially a fusion wagon and the thing is probably the biggest two row SUV on the market.
Judging by their reaction they haven’t shopped for a family hauler recently. The ST is priced appropriately for the market, unfortunately.
1000x this.
Fortunately for you I havent flunked out so I can share what I’ve learned with you and be largely correct.
I have become convinced the only smart automakers are the ones not spending money on “The Future of Transportation” right now. The biggest trends AI, Li based electrification, mobility as a service, etc do not have solid business cases today. When they do develop into something profitable odds are the technology will…
Are you sure it wasnt a GT350 with actual CF wheels?
Lots of soldiers and marines. They’re also occasionally attracted to MC culture and not in the “Dentist Cosplay” sense which leads to some headaches. At the places I was stationed there were always a handful of local Motorcycle Clubs on the blacklist.
Yep, seniority first. The shitty thing is even from the management perspective it was obvious dividing “new hires” from the folks with seniority would create a long term problem but they did it anyways. It’s ok in year 1 when the new hires are a small minority but by year ten they have a substantial vote and an axe to…
Mine just started, time to go practice.
True, I did leave that out of the rant.
I work in a union plant as management so I get to interact with this every day. As far as protecting bad employees, yep that definitely happens but you put the blame in the wrong place. It’s the local stewards and committees that represent them and file the grievances. 99% of the time they’ll admit offline that the…
Why? It worked pretty well for both companies, Mazda got access to resources and models they wouldn’t have had otherwise (the ranger and escape were pretty decent 2000's cars imho). Mazda was still using the duratec motors until recently. In exchange Ford got the L engine and the probe.
