Ehhh we’ll see. GM’s support of racing at that level has paled in comparison to ford. Ford has been offering turn key race cars for over a decade now and ford racing has really driven down the cost of competition for teams running mustangs.

It never “slotted” in the line up. It was effectively a gt with a performance pack before ford started offering that as a separate option. I never understood the hoopla over them, guys are still holding to 2001s thinking they’ll be worth something compared to the mach1 and cobras from that era.

hmm... doesn’t keep them out of corvettes. But seriously mustang sales are half of what they where in the 80s and 90s.

Its filling the old personal coupe niche as well as the pony car. They just don’t have a large enough market any more to split it between the thunderbird and the mustang like they did for the foxbody era when we had “small” mustangs.

I like it, it looks like the SN95 and new edge fronts which were far better than the retro 05+.

10 bolt, dana 35, 8.25... Yeah Id say its a little higher in the pecking order than your giving it credit for.

Judging by its sales, that is exactly what they did...

The first engines they built were Clones based on the Ford engines. But they quickly designed their own version of the same engines.

If he did the plug change himself, then hat tip to him. I made the mistake helping a buddy with his 5.4 once.

Sorry forgot your reading level. Da ecoboost raptor is faster than da voodoo raptor brosef.

Lol. Have you ever seen the dynos for those two? Power under the curve wins this one. The 5.2 will feel like a dog compared to the 3.5 at 2,500, you can try to fix it with gearing ( if you accept the poor highway manners) but your still dealing with a narrow power band and way less power off the line. You’re forgeting

Good luck with a low torque and high revving motor in a heavy truck.

Having ridden in both, the difference between a normal ecoboost and a 5.0 are noticeable much less the high output version in the raptor.

A hilarious power disparity?

Any stiffly sprung rear wheel drive vehicle will do this, how do you think everyone on here knows to use the hand brake? Its because they have done it too, mine has done the same thing on a uphill corner in my neighborhood.

A lot of commentators and the writer are expecting limited slips to work like lockers. They dont, this is normal.

Roush does most of ford performance’s engine development, so pretty believable. Besides “modified engine block” implies some additional work wasn’t listed.

Falcon received the 5.4 in the 2000's. You all called it the boss. To be fair it was a little different, running 4V heads from the mustang and a local intake vs the 2 valve heads and supercharger on the lightning.

Significantly later than the lightning that ford never ran there... Its competition would have been the LS1 and you can ask american camaro owners how well that typically went for them.

Counterpoint, you may one day get actual sport trucks. Not some weird small displacement diesel/manual combo masquerading as a “sport” model.
