No one called it harmless, its still a heavy metal and inhaling fine particles in hulks will poison you just like lead. But pointing out its use as extraordinary against the backdrop of everything else iraq has going wrong is asinine.

DU is no where near the worst thing going on in Iraq’s environment. DU has about the same radioactivity as granite and is less toxic than tungsten, which is the often recommended alternative by people who have no idea what they’re talking about.
