@RedLantern: I wrote my comment when I was pissed off. This is EXACTLY what I meant: "This is an alternative lifestyle, and I don't have to approve of it to respect someone's right to choose it."

So, it's not okay to body snark but we can call these women soul-sucking stepford zombies because of the CHOICES they made AS ADULTS? I'm confused. I thought we don't do the whole "paternalistic" thing as feminists, or whatever.
@MagsCO: I'm also out of the loop and thought the same thing when I read the item about Speidi. Then I realized "wow, it feels good to be out of that loop."
@duplo mama: Reminds me of a lot of some recent Jezebel posts...
@ZioZio: I love you and I don't even know you.
@reenelk: Growing up, my sister and I referred to the "toys" and the "girls toys" in Happy Meals. It never occurred to us that the "toys" were intended for the boys. We just thought they made extra girly toys for those extra girly(annoying) girls.
@prettypithy: THANK YOU!!!
@meganbytheminute: Hmm - can we start an online Steve Martin bookclub?
@Nell_fersher: Isn't everyone, though?
@lolita7b3: THANK YOU! The editing of the show very frequently points out the flaws in their logic - anyone remember the episode where they went to the Creationist Museum and they were all edited to say "the earth is only 6,000 years old - if you think about it, it makes sense" and you could tell they were repeating…
@jianna: Ooh! I like that idea - it could add another layer to the experiment.
@TulsaTime: My office enforced an unnecessary dress code, so I decided to forgo makeup. My theory - you can make me dress up, but you can't make me be pretty. Fuck them.
@lezebel-in-chief: Okay, now I'm actually going to have to watch the clip. You make it sound awesome!
@kimberlymaybe: I think there is a difference in complimenting a child's self-selected outfit. You're complimenting their artistic style and personal expression.
@xojenxo: Obvs.
@DutchessOfDork: I would like to agree that many of the other syndicated stories blow. This one was awesome.
@greydove: Word. I'll take "grenades" over "guidos" any day.
@Kitty Conner: And I'll be adding OneUniqueToken to my daily blog reel - hooray for RSS feeds and new writers!!!
@pursedangler: I work in a very large company in the financial services industry in the State of California (which is pretty pro-worker, as far as states go) and even here I've seen the same sort of behavior.
