I'd really recommend it. It is haunting and disturbing and it still sticks with me four years later. I worked at an on-campus sexual assault centre at the time and facilitated a discussion afterwards with members of the community. Although the majority there had been adults at the time, they were still pretty

Interestingly enough, the movie was a Canadian production.

It is an excellent movie and indeed very upsetting. In fact, I'd call it the most upsetting movie I've ever seen along with Tim Roth's The War Zone. It does stick with you for some time.

Do NOT click on the images from lastburneraccount. They are beyond awful and have been flagged.

"They want to retain the advantages of being women...while trying to grab those of men."

It is disturbing to be the amount of mental logistics people will go through to try to imply that these women weren't killed for being educated women. This is what happens when we condone a society that devalues women and mocks those that attempt to make changes.

Whoopsie daisy, looks like I've been commenting from two different computers...

I absolutely disagree with the negative response to this. It makes sense that people should make SOME effort to have a diverse pool of friends otherwise we would never LEARN things. "slow clap for Kara, as well as the human right to approach a topic however a bitch shall please"

Lupita would be my first choice, but she's been ignoring my clipped fan mail. Maybe Taylor will have better luck.

*raises hand* Hi, quick question? Will the Jezebel thread be cynical, or?...

Thank you for saying this. I have a severely mentally/physically disabled 5yo, who just broke 30 lbs. Shes been passed up by her two year old sister. Her feet, because she can't stand on her own, are also smaller than the 2yos. If you saw her legs, you might think her malnourished, since there's little muscle

I love John Early! His Showgirls scene was astonishingly accurate.

If you happen to exist in the center of the "people who miss 30 Rock" and "people who are dreading Peter Pan Live!"

Here is a quick note on rape and physiological arousal, particularly as it pertains to male victims of rape.

Is it not just a little troubling that it took an adult woman "hours of prayer, talking with [her] parents and re-reading [her] words" to realize that her words were insulting and poor taste.
