Yeah, it almost felt vindictive and personal. I didn’t think his actions rose to the level of criminality though I can see him being held accountable civilly.

I mean, yeah, anyone following the news can point out how weak and plain weird the prosecution’s case was.
It sounded like a throwaway line from Barry, anyway.
that’s wild to me, I love nothing more than to leave this country at least once a year.
More than half the country doesn’t have a passport - IIRC it’s at 42% do currently. Up from 15% pre-9/11.
Serves briefly as a boat, in the same way Oceangate’s ship served briefly as a submarine.

“I leave my iPod Nano, full of music to take life less seriously by.”
Fuck, I would. Dude was fewer than 10 years older than me.
What about Carmy’s behavior prior to the show made it seem especially surprising? Because as far as I’m concerned he is exactly the kind of guy to have an out loud tantrum while locked in a freezer.
Yeah, I see Syd and Carmy as most similar to the dynamic between Don Draper and Peggy Olson. Their chemistry isn’t romantic or sexual, it’s an intense platonic respect. It’s intimate in its way, but built around seeing each other as artists with similar drives, as kindred spirits within their craft.
Even though I trusted The Bear’s writers to not go down that romance road, I still let out a sigh of relief. The quality they put out for two seasons was damn good so I figured they were smart enough to not do it, but you still never know, especially if execs somewhere start meddling.
Edebiri chimed with this takeaway, in case you need self-control motivation while pressing play: “Nobody is forcing you to watch it all at the same time. You can pace yourself. I find myself with shows releasing weekly sometimes, I wait until the end and pace it out. You have autonomy as a viewer.”
Edebiri is obviously right about the option of pacing yourself or binging a show, but from the actual streamers’ business perspective it seems like they’d do better building buzz around a show (and thus possibly attracting more subs) with weekly releases.
I’m getting flashbacks to everyone insisting Ted and Rebecca should end up together on Lasso, and how grateful I was that they didn’t go down such an obvious route.
Alamo Drafthouse has been in dire straits since being purchased by private equity firm Altamont Capital.
Fucking Seacrest is taking over? Another show to actively avoid now.

I’d have a lot more glee if he hadn’t somehow lived to 70 and had decades to do irreparable damage.
I don’t know if he ever said anything abhorrent about gay people, but he always seemed a bit uncomfortable around queer contestants, especially the ones who would mention a same-sex spouse.
