People keep trying to get this whole "appreciation of the Prequels" thing to happen, and I can't think of a legitimate reason why other than to generate clicks.

So, if it were a frat-themed hip-hop routine, would the paddles be allowed?

Ugh. I don't know that I could handle adorable Dune.

Right. And, in the book, it's a struggle. It's a progression.

Ah, yep. Forgot.

Eh, can't really agree in the case of the Shining. The topiary monsters were silly as fuck, but I would have preferred to see the internal struggle of Jack Torrance as opposed to Nicholson's/Kubrick's version, who looked like he was a millisecond away from snapping your neck at every point in the flick.

"Dune" - A Paul Thomas Anderson Film

"Because it's culturally pervasive, like I said."

I don't know why anyone with a brain and integrity would allow themselves to be swayed into believing themselves to be a caricature when the characteristics don't apply.

Because you're focusing exclusively on progressives getting the short shrift, which a certain subset of them certainly are this season. As a whole, though, they've skewered people across the political spectrum.

Do you miss or ignore when they skewer moronic, bigoted Conservatives? Because they do. If you care about the frequency or balance, hey, that's fine. I don't.

You just might - MIGHT - be giving South Park a bit more weight than is warranted.

"If you drew that conclusion from my argument it seems like you missed the point of the argument."

SIDEBAR: What we're seeing below is another problem with discourse in this country (particularly online), namely that the message isn't as important as FIGHTING OVER the message.

I was trying to explain this to one of my parents last night. She simply would not move past the point that "there are so many liberal news sources and only ONE conservative one." I literally bashed myself in the head at one point.

"That unless BLM is perfectly managed they're bound to deserve whatever they get…."

"Questioning them is questioning their motive, unless you make an
explicit statement about their tactics you're really just presuming
their argument is invalid and even then you're still putting tactics
ahead of message."

My only complaint is the whole "Sure, Porcupine's alive again, because why not?" thing.

Eh, I don't think she will. Just wouldn't fit. At all.

Yep, sure is.
