Maybe District 9 sequel…? Just throwing it out there.
Maybe District 9 sequel…? Just throwing it out there.
Yep, that's pretty much it. The Internet has made it worse, IMO. Now you can point yourself in a direction and punch it out with a rando at any time you wish.
I'd say this season more than others. As to the criticism, I find it similar to Hannity critiquing Jon Stewart on the lack of balance in The Daily Show: a comedy show isn't ever going to be the optimal platform for reasoned thought. It's meant to spur that sort of thought.
Right. And constant reactivity to every real or perceived slight isn't the greatest way to "get the job done," so to speak.
BLASphemy!
Well this ought to go well…
Can't agree. To me, "South Park" is against our tendency toward idiotic reactivity in many aspects of life, be it our responses to terrorism ("FUCK THAT! We're going to WAR!") or to mildly offensive articles of clothing ("This is an OUTRAGE!").
Agreed.
At heart, South Park has always lampooned the fact that we're an overwhelmingly reactive society in pretty much all areas. "React first, think second" may as well be stamped on our fucking currency.
Twitter is now the go-to source for "Here, be mad" "news." That ship has pretty much sailed.
I think that we can and should point out when protesters are "doing it wrong," if for no other reason than to ensure that a message worth hearing remains strong.
GLIB TAKE: We're born to polarize, and we're raised (on a cultural level) to be loath to examine the failings in our own thought processes.
"South Park isn’t against PC culture as a whole. It’s against fake
PC culture, those individuals who use political correctness as a means
of personal gain or personal validation."
One fine day, Wyatt will be allowed into the championship picture to a significant degree.
Yep, pretty much.
Riiiiiiiiiiight?
Sorry, totally my fault.
Don't ask. She'll swing on ya!
Thank god. The individuality on display is enough to make me shit myself in mortal terror, which of course needs must be the sole and most logical follow up to the sentiment of "I'm not a fan."
People watch SNL?
