I mean, you are definitely not booking Wilco, though. Wilco can be booked in a several-thousand seat venue and sell it out. SXSW is booking a lot of relatively unknown bands, in 100 seat bars. And if the band has any kind of buzz going, that bar is going to have a line down the block an hour before their set. So them

I would argue that there's a huge difference between Lollapalooza, which is in a venue so large that tens of thousands of tickets are purchased, and the typical SXSW gig, which are almost ALL in smallish bars, and where in-demand bands are going to be at capacity just on pass-holders well before individual tickets

Definitely should have called that bluff. Neither Snapchat nor the NRA wants any part of running those ads in anti-gun violence spots.

It’s more like “imagine if we treated refugees from anywhere else like we treat cubans”.

“You would have wasted it anyway!” is not a good excuse for shoveling money into a hole.

The “consensus” third-way politics that has dominated US politics since 1992 has fallen apart. The people weren’t

There’s a really strong current of thought among technocratic elites that they don’t even HAVE an ideology, just expertise. So anyone that disagrees with them is just uneducated, rather than possessing a different set of interests. One side simply knows that privatizing your education, your healthcare, your

If you can’t see how mocking the concept of voting for your leader is anti-democratic, there’s not much hope for you

Sometimes the common people disagree with the technocratic elites for reasons that are not due to lack of education, but because they have different class interests. One example is TPP. Another is universal healthcare, which the wonks will tell the lowly commoners is simply too costly to attempt. The comic is a

This one is some technocrat’s wet dream of how democracy doesn’t work. If only the common people knew what was best for them like TPP! We should have left the decisions up to the Pilots, i.e. lanyarded ivy-league dipshits.

God, how I loathe the young!

Somebody who gets their sushi with curry!

I'm only interested if the comedy is 100% clean, and delivered by a a millenial

A real "who's who" of "who's that?"

"How many of ya'll like sex?"

Yo FUCK Carl Diggler!
