Meh, I've always thought science fiction was based around the idea of exploring concepts and ideas, I mean space-operas (while I adore them) are science fiction only because of their setting, they rarely explore huge ideas, and generally are much more focused on the people themselves. Not that any of that means

They're like airborne vomit-monsters from any self-respecting post-apocalyptic setting.

well that just sounds like shitty writing :P

Not when a republicans feelings are involved. Then it just happens, by the grace of Gawd.

Head-hopping? I didn't realize changing perspective was something that people would actually complain about.

I always liked Joe Haldeman's description in a forward that I read at the beginning of a collection: Science fiction is fiction where ideas are the hero, rather than people.

I'm conflicted because I mean, fuck, not only does the writer still have control, but near as I can tell it hasn't ruined him either. But at the same time.... Pixar would do it. They'd do it well.

I thought including the Illuminati covered them too, since they're all Illuminati fronts. Aren't they? It's the Warhammer 40k of conspiracy theories: It can contain any and all permutations of conspiracies and the secret societies they love.

blarg, Kinja decided to make it look like I was the first to point it out, even while looking at the greys :P

Now playing

I consider that little bastard rather glorious, even as obviously dangerous as it is geared to be.

Actually... I think the nose slides up when in flight and I guess they fly completely by instruments. There's no way that arrangement would be stable at mach speeds.... surely..

I realized actually after quitting that its the tar high that I think I'd get out of it. Which is why I think I don't get much out of a vaporizer, I love the head/body highs, but I enjoy the tar high that comes from the plant matter itself, and it only really works for me all as one. Nicotine eventually became

Ah yeah, the secondary part was hard for me. I smoked cheap cigars for about a year or two, and the habit of just going outside cause 'its about that time' was hard to break. I'm glad I didn't have any major withdrawal over it. 2 years was plenty difficult to break, I couldn't imagine 20.

Actually Nicotine is a lot more vicious than we give it credit for. There's a few studies that are putting its addictiveness up there with heroin (something like 3% of ex-heroin users say nicotine is harder to quit). So uh, yeah, good job going cold after 20 years. Thats solid.

hand wringing over nearly sexually explicit material.

I have no idea, I hate the taste and feel of baked apples. These people are insane.

That is pretty much my favorite thing to come from Adult Swim. I love me some Squidbillies, and I miss Space Ghost and old Sealab, but Venture Bros is just so fucking perfect. Almost every single line of dialogue is a reference or a joke or a setup, its glorious :D

Oh man that was so great. "She's gettin away!" "Allow it."

It's so fucking hilariously campy and almost purposefully bad its glorious.

Oh man, I loved that scene with the colonist ejection in deep space. That's good science fiction specific horror scenario writing right there.
