rofl, right to the insults, nice. So whats your confusion? You’re basically telling me you understand how they work, but you what, don’t understand the appeal? Do you have the same problem with understanding how people can be interested in japanese life-sims?

What is confusing about these games? Are you at a similar loss when seeing someone play TDM on a 3d shooter?

How is this difficult? I don’t understand how you guys are confused. Its a video game. There are sides. Its a competition. Does Team Death Match confuse you in 3d shooters just as badly?

Well his apparent shock that someone would ‘try to stealthily push a lane during a team fight’ shows how little he’s aware of standard MOBA tactics. I mean that was a thing in Warcraft 3 Dota days...

...... So you mean he points out the faults and praises it where it shines, as though he were reporting on the state of a military project. Like some sort of journalist who was giving it a fair view, rather than just accepting whatever propaganda happens to be floating around. Which seems to be what you’re upset

I had little issue progressing as a combat heavy character. I’d generally stealth my way in, but once I was discovered, all bets were off.

F.E.A.R. 1’s AI was and still is (imo) the best FPS AI ever created. Their behavior is different every single playthrough, and the things they can do that aren’t pre-scripted makes the pre-scripted events blend seamlessly. They’ll do pincher formations, flush you from cover with grenades, I’m really sad it hasn’t

Fake character or not, his bullshit is exactly what keeps me from even paying attention to the competitive scene in any game. Almost without fail you have to wade through elitist wannabe pros to be involved at all. Its not fun.

Based on the absolute batshit responses I’ve seen from the community towards modders, I have absolutely no sympathy for those crying about it. I’ve seen people post reputation-smearing threats because someone didn’t update a Space Engineers mod within 24 hours of a new version, while it was still in open beta.

That’s a pretty concise summation of the entire trainwreck.

The entire ‘ethics in journalism’ thing is such a fucking joke. The initial thing that touched it all off was an article about various female developers, in which the author mentioned a woman’s game (relevant to the article) in a single line, and whom he happened to have sex with at some point in time. The game was

That’s not a roguelike! This is a roguelike:

Sanitize everything of all every-day language. Act like its shocking and completely out of line! This is news now, when there’s not an actual event happening.

Ah fuck, I wasn’t even aware of that ><

Yeah, I was so excited the first time the x-ray system got used in that not-mortal kombat mortal kombat game.... and then I realized that it wasn't permanent and I lost all interest.

I can't help but wonder how all the Filipinos that vaguely resemble her feel about being told they're essentially not 'whatever' enough to be a representative of their country.

.... verbal feedback is now considered being proactive instead of just knowing how to communicate with your partner now? Seriously?

It'd be nice if everyone could see this argument as moot because: Sexual attraction is not evil.

Its a really really really cool idea, and the best MMO stories come out of EVE as far as I'm concerned, but it takes some real dedication.

I really miss the early days of lol, before jungle was a required position, and every hero had a designated lane. Itemization was largely experimental.... sigh
