And Joe Tsai’s statement is crazy. HK is a special administrative region that is supposed to have some autonomy

What Tsai wrote was deeply offensive, and he knows better. The idea that every Chinese citizen opposes separatism is bullshit (ignoring that “separatism” isn’t a major element of the protests to begin with). I lived in China for many years and my wife is Chinese as are many of my closest and dearest friends. As

We don’t claim him.

Tsai is Taiwanese in name only. He’s made his fortune off Alibaba, which is fully tied into the Chinese Communist Party.

But Harden and the rest of the NBA can’t even say they support the people of HK while also kissing Xi Jinping’s ass.

The fact that Tsai, who is Taiwanese (who take WAY more shit from mainland China than Hong Kong ever has) is basically telling US fans to let the NBA appease the Chinese government (dressing it up as the Chinese people bullshit) tells you everything you need to know about the NBA’s business model. The NBA owners only

I went to college there. It’s the only Williamsburg I acknowledge.

I often think about whether it is well and truly “hypocritical” for such messages to be delivered on a media network whose very existence — not to mention editorial content — depends on the opposite message. But, either way, I think I am going to take the advice for at least the weekend.

Professional sports in the US, where billionaires can cry pauper and fuck over the taxpayers into funding their stadiums (while collecting all profits) and be seen as victims when players hold out for more money. No wonder Trump wanted to be an NFL owner so bad.

This might be the first time in recorded history the Lions fans actually have legitimate reason to be pissed about an insult thrown at their team.

Bills at Lions

True, but The Dark Knight trilogy feel doesn’t feel that way to me. To each their own, I suppose.

But doctor, I am the goddamn Batman.

Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore literally was a box office hit that won its lead actress an Oscar. You want to come up with a better defense than that? Boxcar Bertha also made a ton of money and got Barbara Hershey an Oscar nod to boot. I could go on but you get the idea.

“The Hangover wasn’t funny”

Maybe Phillips shouldn’t have very obviously tried to reference Scorsese if he didn’t want people drawing comparisons to Scorsese!

How much of “this film” is there if it mostly retreads another director’s work?
