I’m sorry, like I said, I was trying not to be belligerent. What you provided is not data. And when I talk about “bias”, I’m talking about the cognitive biases that every human being has and cannot avoid. The name of the one that you just gave me an example of is “the availability bias” or “the availability heuristic”.

That is good follow-up Kinja. Did you two work that out ahead of time?

I don’t trust your intuition. I’m not trying to be mean or snarky. I don’t trust intuition on these things. Would you be willing to make a list of every article to have appeared on gizmodo.com (not including any sub-blogs), tag them with a specific content marker (and it can just be a binary marker, like “political”

There’s an entire fucking generation between the boomers and the millenials.

Since that requires an amendment to the Constitution, no, he can’t repeal the right to peacably assemble, and in those assemblies, speak, and/or request from the government a redress of grievances. The Constitution, which binds every member of the government, requires a large majority of States to amend. The President

I love it when a commenter starts a—I don’t know, psuedo-Flame War?—and then responds, like, reasonably, to the subsequent comments.

Do not be ashamed of hating that which is awful: overly-processed slices of orange hate, and/or Donald Trump.

EDIT: Nevermind. Your point was that Virginia *eventually* separated them.

I’ve never seen so much dedication to not saying, “Fuck you, Sam Hinkie.” Good work!

Nope. I thought so, too, but there’s a nice thread above that explains how I was wrong.

Thank you!

Well, I hope Neil Gaiman gets a salary from them, then. That’s a combination of the story arcs in A Season of Mists and The Kindly Ones.

In the first movie, Vader didn’t capture his daughter. She wasn’t his daughter then. She wasn’t his daughter until later in the storytelling process. And make no mistake, this is a criticism of the storytelling process itself.

Lucas’s claims notwithstanding, the real reason that Star Wars itself was not just successful, but good is that he had to edit. The original drafts for Star Wars had a lot of things that had to be taken out. It’s a truism of writing that being forced to edit—literally, to remove the worst stuff—is a good thing for the

You’re right about the problems, and I think the idea that they “couldn’t control themselves” is on target. I think the list of things that show how much they couldn’t help it doesn’t start (or end) just with Luke’s lightsaber.

Thanks for the suggestions!

It’s only at pesonal whim that either is preferred, not just Celsius. Also, it is an exact temperature, at the correct pressure. “Boiling point” and “melting point” are, of course, not just dependent on temperature, which is part of the problem with this discussion.
