Morgan Freeman’s “Apology”: A Critical Analysis by Thundercatsarego:
Totally unrelated, just wondering about something. If there may be a day when I finally get un-greyed around here? I’ve been here for years. This is my favorite outlet. I feel that I’m part of this community.
Change happens one funeral at a time, mostly. That’s why the joke about killing all the men and reproducing via parthogenesis for a generation is so touchy and oft repeated.
In what fucking universe is it complimentary to tell a woman she looks “ripe”? That is some rapey shit, sir.
If they’re creating a hash, why would they need to keep the photo at all?
When we were in college, my friend met Morgan Freeman and asked for a picture together. He grabbed her ass.
I was harassed by a man at work when I was pregnant. His defence was that other classic “it was just a joke!” But here’s the thing. If no one is laughing, or no one is flattered, instead they’re uncomfortable and a little squicked out, IT’S NOT A JOKE OR A COMPLIMENT! Read the the room, ffs! Stop talking and apologize…
His language sounds like he knows a lawsuit and/or charges are coming, and was coached by his lawyer.
Dear Morgan Freeman,
When one finds oneself in a hole, the first thing one needs to do is stop fucking digging.

Everybody Everywhere
“Oh yes I feel so much more comfortable and at ease after you smacked your lips at me like I was a papaya,” said NO WOMAN EVER.
I think rich powerful men think any attention they pay a woman, creepy or otherwise, we should take as a compliment because we are so beneath them that they deigned to even pay attention to us peasants.
“Apologies” like this one remove any doubt in my mind that the speaker is a serial harasser. They always sound so entitled, self-righteous, and devoid of empathy—the same traits that give rise to harassing behavior.
Sure, because no matter how many times we tell men that gross remarks about our bodies AREN’T “complimentary”, they never hear it.
This. Even if he (and I suspect he didn’t really) felt the same need to put men at ease, it almost certainly wasn’t with sexual comments about their appearance.
I think it’s just time to shut up Morgan.
I would really love to hear what Freeman has said to men that’s “complimentary.” Did he also long to watch them have sex? Did he ask them about getting women pregnant?
You are blaming the women who took nudes and sent them to someone they thought they could trust though, and that’s a gross thing to do.
I deactivated my Facebook last week. I figure I will go a month without, and if I don’t miss it, I’ll try and go through the arduous process of more permanently deleting it.
