Lots of people cheat. That’s not on the sex workers. If it’s a cheating “scandal” then that’s fine. Heck. at least Lily was completely honest about the whole thing.

There’s nothing exploitative or predatory about paying a consenting sex worker for sex. You’re the one objectifying them by assuming they have no agency in choosing their profession.

I agree. I find it odd to get upset with Lily Allen for not proclaiming she was seeking sexual fulfillment or pleasure. It sounds like she was going through a dark time and it was more of an emotional outlet. Which many people do and desperately crave human connection. And an anonymous human connection. If that’s her

My coworker gave me a hug a few weeks ago when I was having a rough day, and it was unexpectedly the best hug I had in a while. It helps that she looks and talks just like my mom...but I can see your point- my husband gives me hugs, but I didn’t realize how much I just needed a soft kind mom hug.

As they say. You’re not paying them for sex. You are paying them to leave after.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see a woman really claiming her pursuit of pleasure?

I don’t know if calling her time with sex workers a “dark time” that she doesn’t do anymore - I don’t know if that description disparages sex work necessarily. Saying you were having a dark time and seeing a therapist doesn’t disparage therapy work. Sexual healing is still healing. If people want to see a sex worker

I’m from Hawthorne, where this happened last year, and this is not the only example of police misconduct here. The cover up is real and no one will be held accountable for their crimes without outside pressure. This is how it is in small rural towns and it will continue to be this way until the greater public takes

This Sheriff could run the strength and conditioning program at the University of Maryland.  How these people get off, buy outs is beyond me.

Its particularly egregious in this case because she was actually dependent on Klonopin. So she may not have any choice in her dependence as this was likely prescribed to treat a medical issue. Even if she abused the prescription, the addiction was probably inflicted by the medical system. Not that denying a meth head

This is appaling, but as someone with family relatively near here, this is both more and less complex than this article makes it out.

That’s incorrect. My brother was arrested for not paying a ticket for talking on his cell phone while driving. His license was not suspended. He spent a night in jail until I bailed him out. Even though he was brought in a 5:00pm they didn’t release him until 1:00am even though I paid the bail at 6:00pm. Why? They are

How is someone in jail for 3 days for unpaid parking tickets?  Also, for people who are supposedly the front line in our “war on drugs” they don’t seem to understand drug addiction so well.

Not cruel and malicious? They could’ve taken her on a 2 minute walk to a hospital but chose to let her die and that’s not cruel and malicious? What is cruel and malicious!?

Murder.  This is murder.

That’s about normal.

I kinda assume this case is going to end with the officers getting severance/hazard pay for “mental hardship” for all the hate they are going to get.

They let a woman suffer for days until she died, one of them got a finger wagging and the other got MONEY?!?!? WTF?!?! Why aren’t THEY in prison now?

Kelly Coltrain was locked up in a cell at the Mineral County jail for failing to pay parking tickets.

Murder by omission.
