Pete is trying to connect with people. He is trying to inspire people who need it to get help. I don’t think he’s trying to make it seem like his life is all roses. He can’t worry about what other people are going to do with his story. That keeps people from being able to talk about their experience at all.

I feel the same way! He actually stepped away from SNL for a while to deal with his addiction and mental health issues, and seems to be mostly back in action now. He’s so funny, and I have a weird little crush on this guy who is waaaaay too young for me.

I was diagnosed with BPD at around the same age Pete is - I also thought I had an addiction problem but it was masking deeper issues. Knowing his childhood trauma issues it is not surprising. My BPD has actually totally cleared up as it does for most sufferers with age. I had to work on getting to the source of my own…
