I agree that it was a dick thing to say, but the man is trying to save lives. For once (and probably once only) I agree with him.

People don’t need to go on vacation, just to their local storm shelter (and there are plenty). For almost everyone who is not literally home-bound, this is reasonable and potentially life-saving.
I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Governor Voldemort, but here it is. People do die in hurricanes, and this is a damn strong hurricane. Those assholes who stay behind are the ones calling 911 in the worst part of the storm, expecting police and firefighters to come risk their own lives to help.
For some people, you’re definitely right. But there are lots of other people who could afford to leave and just don’t. I think it’s because they despise the government and don’t want to told what to do, no matter the circumstances.
Was Disney honestly considering casting a white actress? Even for like a second? If so, jesus h christ?!?!
Somehow I am expecting something like that to drop since there are so many rumors about her drug use. And if it’s true, it’s pretty scummy she’s asking for primary custody.
Just because it’s published doesn’t mean it’s legit. (Probably still more legit than imgur, but still.)
I’m on board with your arguments, but I think that older people are just less skeptical of what they see online. They are disproportionately the ones accidentally installing toolbars, clicking on spam emails, and falling for phishing scams. I think OP has a point in that older people just aren’t as good at discerning…
Same, I was all about the Depp/Heard split until the whole domestic violence thing reared its head. Jesus.
Martin Sheen
I know, it’s like tenure and the Supreme Court!
I don’t think so. The hardcore auditing sessions that he does as part of Scientology would have hit on this and I think it certainly would have leaked by now.
But Travolta is a Scientologist and that makes me think that he is/was trying to better himself in some way. Scientologists make you do these stream of consciousness, tell-all-your-secrets auditing sessions. If he had mentioned being a child abuse kingpin, I think word would have gotten out by now.
Yeah but I think that it’s disrespectful and frankly irrelevant in a lot of cases. 9 times out of 10, she is interviewing very professional people who have a world of interesting things to discuss (music, art, books, science, law, etc.) Instead she just asks rude questions about their childhoods/personal lives.
Ted Talks are the worst.
Same! 1) She takes approximately 13 minutes to ask a question 2) She asks her interviewees what are clearly extremely personal and uncomfortable questions, and often doesn’t get the hint to stop 3) She’s had this job 40 years, please let someone newer and better qualified give it a try!
I hate it. She’s been doing this job for 40 years. For the love of god, please hire someone new and less awkward, NPR!!!
I share your feelings. I was a big fan of theirs and would have been willing to pay real money, maybe 10-20 bucks a year (which is pretty good considering how much freeware there is out there). But 50?!?! They’re shooting too high and probably going to lose a lot of users, including me.
Your criticism is totally valid, but I think about 98% of all movies made glamorize terrible types of relationships. I don’t think it’s fair that this movie gets singled out for it when there are plenty of other dumpster fires.
Plot holes. Plot holes everywhere.
