Ugh, sending good vibes back at you! Can you wait for your insurance to kick in before getting the biopsy? Because mine cost nearly 4 grand before insurance. I think I would be okay with getting rid of them altogether in the future, but like you say, not yet! I’m glad your sister is alright now.
No, but I suppose they’ll probably recommend it. My aunt took it when she had cancer and it was negative, but then her daughter also had breast cancer last year.
It’s a history of actual breast cancer, one per generation so far.
Sorry you had to go through “just” surgery and radiation! All the women in my family who have had breast cancer also survived with surgery and radiation. (My grandmother had a full mastectomy but that was so long ago it might have just been the way to go back then).
Thanks! as much as I hate having to deal with doctor things I’m lucky to have decent insurance at the moment and may not (ever again, with the way things are going) after I graduate so I’m forcing myself to make the most of it, haha.
Ugh, I can’t imagine going through that with no health insurance! The silver lining is that I’m finally getting my money’s worth out of the expensive but pretty decent insurance my grad school forces me to have. I hit my deductible with the boob thing alone so now for all my other issues I’m like, yes, bring on the…
I had a breast biopsy last week. Thankfully benign but I’m in my 20s and it was my second suspicious lump, first biopsy. Despite the results, my gyno still wants me to see a specialist.... it was a little confusing as to why, I think mostly to talk about my risk (strong family history) and maybe recommend a schedule…
My grandparents took me and my brother to Disneyworld when I was about 6 and utterly wasted their money because one of maybe 5 memories I have of that trip was getting to eat Fruit Loops in the hotel.
I don’t know why, out of all the unbearably heinous shit he’s said, that one cut through the numbness and made me see fucking red. I hate that motherfucker with every ounce of my being.
I honestly think this a lot. And if we do get to age, we will be truly SOL. Still trying to go to all the doctors and fix all my problems for now, since I hit my deductible for the year and I truly don’t know if I’ll have health insurance after this year!
Sharing this story because while it’s also a little sad, it’s also the only thing that made me smile when I checked the hellscape that is twitter this morning.
exactly! There’s lots of actors I recognize when I see them in a movie or on the red carpet but in a normal setting, from a distance, probably wearing normal clothes/makeup, there’s no way.
Sometimes items like this confuse me because I feel like there are very few celebrities I would definitely recognize if I saw them in person. Amber Heard is definitely not one of them.
Yes, I’m filing this one under ‘celebrity couples I support and think are a good match despite not knowing anything about them’
Sadly, my generation can no longer afford chicken-legged huts. The Baba Yaga dream should be accessible to all!
What struck me was the similar profiles of the people who owned/raised the chimps, all misguided but caring people essentially trying to replace a child.
I remember going down a verry long internet rabbit hole reading about chimp attacks after someone mentioned that case in the comments here. It’s so thoroughly sad and horrifying from every angle.
that’s what I’ve been voting for!
A cloak and not worrying about moisturizing.
