Let the people have their fun.
Trek is about excellence. The crews are meant to be the best of the best. They are meant to exemplify the Federation through and through.
Discovery? Hopeless neurotics who can’t and don’t work as a team. Worse, modern Kurtzman Trek just references itself. There’s nothing new happening there.
They stand on the shoulders…
He’s not too fond of it either.
Come on, people! Pinocchio: Strung Out was right there.
I think we should call it cracking
I have heard that before but I really feel like the Porn industry had already chosen streaming content online by that point, way ahead of everyone else. Physical Porn media started dying the day your dad, or grandpa, could download a very low res video of blurry cam of someone fucking.
A completely fair criticism, I’d say. I like Strange New Worlds, too. But it and most of the recent Star Trek stuff feels far less like the product of a distinct vision than TOS and Next Gen.
God, MadTV sucked

Well, annoyingly, we went from a post-religious society to an overt celebration of religious mysticism. From a vision of peace and prosperity to just a cynical wild west in space. Everyone will default to “old man yells at cloud!” but he’s right. New Star Trek blows. They gave in to their impulse to try and be Marvel with quippy dialogue and “big bads” every season.
I think Gene’s thing was more like “the crew of the ship should behave like professionals” which I get. Clearly the Kurtzman trek has completely jettisoned that concept, which I also get. That’s not really the problem with Kurtzman trek; the issues go so much deeper than that!
The fact of the matter is, however much they constrained the story, Gene’s rules did create a sort of believable and culturally distinct universe from ours which helped with making the series a compelling view into the future. The current iteration where people yell, cuss, fail to display the slightest amount of…
It’s not the “Disney properties” that are the root. It’s that *Milne’s books* entered the public domain, and these companies have now realized they could simply mine all the same other public domain stories that Disney already did long ago (or whose source material is now p.d.) - and then even milk that Disney…
If you’re one of the freaks who gave the $50,000 “what if Winnie the Pooh stabbed people” slasher a whopping $5 million at the box office, you legally owe the rest of us an apology.
What a master class in exactly what you should never say.
I know, but come on, it’s Robert Evans. Would Robert Evans screw Robert Evans to improve Robert Evans’ performance? You’re damn right he would, and he’d drain Robert Evans’ sack so dry it’d twist up and blow away like a leaf in fall.
