The trick is figuring out when outperforming your peers will result in fair compensation and when outperforming your peers is unappreciated and overlooked.

AKA "passive resistance". Bartleby did it the best.

Why is this “quitting”? If you get your job done, why would anyone have an issue with your performance?

Look at your employment and your work balance like this - 99% of employers would just use slaves if they could; their ideal situation is to get infinite work in exchange for no payment to the workers so that their profits are maximized. 99% of workers would ideally do zero non-optional work (so not counting work for

But if the fuel level is a little higher when I turn it in I’ll be reimbursed at those rates, right?    Right?

I agree with most of what you say, but I also think the only way to get ahead is to put in extra effort, or at least give the appearance that you are doing so. This will also highly depend on the organization or group you work for. About a year ago I got a job grade promotion (very large company) along with a heft

Also not “quiet quitting” - but acknowledging I no longer want to be on call or an assistant doing what the person I’m assisting is supposed to be doing has been freeing in the extreme.

I’ve never heard of a fulltime job in the US that was truly 9-5 with an hour lunch, meaning a 7 hour workday. The expected hours of every office job I’ve ever had have been 8-5, 7-4, or currently 7:30-4:30. Those do include an hour for lunch.

Everyone is replaceable and if you’re living to work you cannot work to live - I think when more people realize those points, realize that doing more (and doing more with less) only begets having more piled on your plate, and realizes that the folks up at the top really, truly, don’t give a shit about you, it’s easier

Before you “quiet quit” make sure you really know your workplace, your field and know what you want out of your career.

Absolutely ridiculous. How about instead of quiet quitting you actually make the effort to find a different job instead of being so passive agressive about it. When you reach this point that you feel this way about your job, it’s called burn out. Do something about it rather than sitting there playing the victim.

Nah, find a cop car that has had the door left open and see if you can plug it in there.

It literally fell out .... just before we took the car to do some hooing....

Absolutely run them over. The fact that they’re young and spry makes ‘em worth the most points!

This is the only reasonable thing to do.

The “Deep State” is watching your rental :)

Now if these could only keep the car from being smoked in! There are certainly no unsmoked vehicles at Orlando (MCO).

Does the car still drive? If yes then just throw it in the garbage.

A lot of people have given up privacy for convenience.

This is why people in cybersecurity and military intelligence don’t buy most of these devices for their own home. If they do, they tend to get down into the weeds of the settings and firewall configurations. I just don’t have time for that so I run a very analog home other than my computer and phone.
