First of all, there’s no reason to make this discussion personal so lay off the guesses as to my sexuality and level of self-esteem, please. If this episode worked for you, then more power to you. It didn’t for me.

Yeah, I see what you’re saying, but it’s the spirit of the thing. Most gay men (I’m assuming) come out to their fathers in a relatively earnest way, which is exactly what Mac did. It was a weird way, sure, but still emotionally honest and vulnerable. On that level, it’s actually kind of believable.
Yeah, that was one of my biggest problems with the episode. McElhenney is believable as a gay man until he’s dancing with sexy-lady God-angel. It just kind of highlighted for me that he’s a straight actor playing gay. Which I have no problem with until you *make him look extremely straight*.
So Always Sunny had a “very special episode” about a gay man coming out to his father which featured him seductively dancing with a woman? I’m confused.
+1 million for the Rot Lop Fan shout-out
I know he’s done a bunch of shitty things, but I can’t help feeling bad for Singer. As a gay man, I’ve known too many other gay men who have fallen into drug addiction because of low self-esteem, and he fits that description to a T.
Great points about the Halbachs and families of victims in general. I think there’s probably some malice thrown in with the human nature of it all, though. I can’t imagine they don’t desire some kind of vengeance mixed in with their justice.
All good points. I can see their position, but I just can’t believe that’s the way I would act in the same circumstances. During the intervening 10 years, no one in the Halbach family has thought that maybe it would be worth getting to the bottom of this once and for all? They don’t think the giant holes in the…
Wow — I don’t get all the certainty in this comments section about Steven Avery’s guilt. I think the documentary (part 1 and now part 2) does a good job of sowing reasonable doubt about his involvement in the murder. That, the clear evidence tampering, and the Brady violations should be all it takes to get him a new…
How ironic (and fitting for this show) would it be if she *wasn’t* trying to arch Hank and Dean, but still drove them to a brother v. brother arching relationship? Everything these characters do is for stupid personal reasons rather than the high-minded rationales they claim.
I buy this theory more than any of the others I’ve heard. And it fits in thematically. HeartfeltContrafibularities for the win.
THANK YOU. I was going to make many of these points myself. Obviously, the PP is involved in Copy Cat’s double-cross. We know a) they’ve been stealing tech this entire season and b) they’ve infiltrated the GCI. So, there you go.
Honestly, I couldn’t disagree more about St. Cloud’s voice. He, as a total package, is hysterical. Remember when he stole the “Is There Something I Should Know?” ball from Billy and Pete? Diabolical! And just the best.
I’ve been doing some research/rewatching, and Ben (in a Very Venture Halloween), while doing a check of an unconscious Dean, mentions that he’s free of “fetiform teratoma,” or a tumor that looks like a fetus. So that must be a known bug in the cloning process — why else check for something like that? So, what I’m…
Oh god, that’s just...ugh. I’d rather Jonas was just a man-slut instead of diabolically using women for his science experiments. Not that I’d put it past him, but...guh.
They knew Jonas was “alive” this whole time in the PROBLEM, but never spoke about that. And they knew Rusty used to play with a little boy who looks a lot like his current arch-nemesis. There’s a lot of stuff that they haven’t told Rusty.
Hmm — good points. Whether Rusty is a clone of himself or not, we can agree that Dean is his younger clone, yes? So I think the big question becomes: who is Hank a clone of?
I have to admit I’m not optimistic about the show, either. I have a *lot* of questions about that list of characters at the end. Hopefully, it’s a partial list and/or some of those characters are supporting players.
I love how Dinosaur Jr.’s aggressively low-fi video fits right into The Cure’s aesthetic. I’ll never get sick of this cover:
Awesome — I guess I can cut them a little more slack for this episode then. Thanks for the info!
