no, if you turn your phone sideways you can use the full resolution of the viewing screen. If you film something that is 1920x1080, you're going to end up viewing it at 1081x608 in the best case - which means you're losing a lot of information just based on the aspect ratio of the screen it is being displayed on. Wrong again. Since the video is for web, it is going to be displayed with a maximum vertical resolution of 1080. You'll get a better picture and record more information by shooting horizontal.
