I submit that these cars served as prototypes for the 981 and 718 series Boxster and Cayman. They weigh about the same, though the Boxster doesn’t look as wide or as long in the wheelbase. You can’t get a 600 bhp V10 in a Boxster, but you can capture much of the essence of this $multimillion car in a loaded Boxster

To really generate some anger here, you’d have to electrify it. Tesla guts would be great!

You can put the top up and turn on the heat, ya know!

LOL. it’s an internal combustion thing...

So tell me what you think about Mazda putting a “sound tube” in their MX-5 in a failed attempt to make the air intake “honk” more audible in the cabin? I threw that thing out, fer sure...

There is some confusion here about Autopilot (standard equipment) and Full Self Driving ($10k or $200/month).

Yeah, having never driven an NSX despite often admiring them, it seems like a comparison with a Boxster or Cayman would be obligatory, considering that the Base is a 265 bhp, 2900 lb. car with a mid-rear engine.

Only topless cars are truly “pretty”. So I’m ok with the 718 Boxster…

FWIW, Vienna did that and it has been quite successful...

Audi doesn’t have a clue…

When I got my first (used) BMW (330Cic), I saw their 15,000 mile oil intervals and got Mobil 1 oil put in at a Jiffy Lube. I got nervous at 10000 miles and took it to an independent mechanic for some other issue I was having and asked them to change the oil. They said the filter that Jiffy lube had completely

A 122 toughness story: Circa 1973, I agreed to drive my ‘67 122 wagon from Vermont to Newfoundland for a double date fishing/camping trip. Everything was pretty good until we got to Corner Brook, when the water pump started making noise. There were no Volvo parts in Newfoundland, so I ordered a new one flown in from

I have the impression that a spare tire is seldom included in most vehicles. Anyone know the statistics?

The problem with these has always been that when the top is down, it takes up the entire trunk. Basically, GM forgot that people like to take overnight trips in a convertible, sometimes. Even a Toyota MR2 Spyder has room for a bag, and a Miata has room for two plus more.

This trashy piece is beneath the dignity of Jalopnik.

Another beautiful classic car ruined by the world’s dumbest auto fad. Don’t do it without an air suspension!

Until more EVs are selling than ICEVs, there should be a subsidy. The problem with a tax credit is that it can only be collected (at present) by those who owe a substantial amount of tax. Apply the tax credit to everyone and refund cash if that’s how it turns out. Then we’ll have an incentive for everyone and all EVs.

1958 MG Magnette. Ok, it’s nothing to write home about, but it was a lot cooler than the 1959 Rambler American for which I traded it...

As I read this, it says the main source of dissatisfaction is not a 30 minute charging session on the road, but rather the lack of a level 2 charging point at home. That is mainly a problem for high density housing where a dedicated parking spot may be unavailable or costly, and a level 2 outlet may require a hassle
