Wasn’t in the original News story that was linked, either.

If this was a Tesla or any other EV (but especially if it was a Tesla) that would be in the headline. This car’s make and model aren’t even in the article.

Yeah... I fucking hate charging my EV when not at my home... Aside from Electrify America (most of their stations are along interstates or in cities) and tesla superchargers (same thing) that’s worked reliably, there’s like 10+ different charging apps that’s mostly not interoperable and requires NFC shit to work....

I always thought the Eagle Vision was the best looking of the LH platform cars.

Yeah, a pipe with a hydroelectric turbine at the bottom would seem to do the trick.

Protip: when your Tesla is at the top of a hill fill the trunks with the heaviest rocks you can find and unload them at the bottom for a free charge.

I don’t know, every fucking chrome plated wheels. Just vile then, vile still.

This makes me think of the current state of aviation... and how leaded fuel is STILL being used for a good number of small aircraft.  It’s the same song and dance of the industry resisting change and the government needs to step in because the industry won’t do it on its own.

What I’m baffled by though is the people that ditch PHEV.  It’s a hybrid that can operate in EV only mode for a short range, so where’s the problem?  You still have a gas engine and can take it on road trips.

mine always double posts a copy/paste job too

Can we go back to this? I hate SUVs.

nope nope zomg nooooooooope

The soft top already has.

So everyone complains about how towing destroys EV range, but everyone forgets it also destroys ICE range... do we just ignore that? Or does that not fit the narrative of “gas/diesel good, electricity bad”

But Engineering Explained says so!!! Jalop must make article about it without doing any of their own research.

Edit:

EVs suck at towing compared to what? Diesel trucks? One quick Google search (and using the first link), big diesel trucks go... 200 miles between fuel stops while towing....

And excuses, apparently.

Spoiler alert: Top Gear, particularly Clarkson, are wrong about most cars they drive. They’re not reviewers, even tho it seems like they are, but it mostly hot takes and a script that says whatever will get views. Like the whole Tesla Roadster fiasco.

Reliability aside, for anyone saying “these weren’t even nice when they were new” I have to wonder if you were around back then. The LH sedans were class leading and award winning when they were new. They made waves in the industry.
