I’m glad that Vigilante is coming back to Peacemaker. He was one of the better parts of season one.

Yeah, who (if anyone) has done the Dakota Johnson “yep, that’s sure a show I’m in” for TV?

Agreed, it wouldn’t be the same without John Candy and Joan Rivers. I’d rather see Jews In Space like everyone else.

I loved the original but at this point I’d rather they just not. Between a lot of the jokes probably just failing at this point and most of the original cast being dead/retired they should just let this idea go.

Related to those last two items, when was the last time some actor, writer, or director said “ya know, this next season is fine. It’s maybe not as crazy, shocking, emotional, or funny as the last three, but it’s pretty good I guess.”

Considering how Spaceballs was a blatant cash-grab that just wasn’t that funny, we can only hope there won’t be a sequel.

The kid in me that watched it will never tire of it, but the adult me would inevitably be disappointed by a sequel trying to be anything like it, or something completely different.

“Though obscured, the cover claims the material is “based on characters created by Mel Brooks” and opens on an exterior shot of a ‘star field.’”

Ah, that snippet of information had passed me by, appreciate the correction.

It’s definitely Richard E Grant. It has been confirmed by RTD.

Random thoughts:

There is definitely a certain resemblance to Richard E Grant, which is what I assumed when I watched the episode, but it’s not entirely clear who it is. Part of me is now wondering if it is actually Michael Jayston and they’ve included The Valeyard in the line up.

It was set up that it was configured to hold 6 people max. Without her, there were only 5 people. So adding her wouldn't free anybody.

But, but, the ratings are bad!!! /s

I really liked this episode BECAUSE it was classic no-frill Doctor Who. Historical period + Cheesy Aliens. Everything else was gravy.

or Curse of Fatal Death

I thought it was a fantastic, fun episode. Also, James are you not going to talk about mystery (Shalka?) Doctor???!!

I was so busy being thrilled and gobsmacked that The Doctor was being so openly flirty with the Rogue that i didn’t even expect them to actually (spoiler) kiss. But when they did, HOO BOY — their chemistry was so palpable, and i was Here. For. It. Happy Pride, y’all!

Hey, trolls, let me save you some time.

Definitely got big “Captain Jack Harkness 2.0" vibes from Rogue - both are queer male characters played by gay American actors (or in Barrowman’s case, Scottish-American) who have time traveled and met the Doctor in “the past” and who clearly have morals a little more loose than the Doctor, but are ultimately heroes.
