At some point someone really needs to cast Elijah Wood and Daniel Radcliffe as brothers.

Eh, I actually view it differently — I suspect (but cannot prove since I don’t have the financials/contracts) that there’s something that escalates payouts (either salary or residuals) to cast after a 5th season of a streaming show.

Go be a cunt somewhere else, universalamander.

I think they’ve got at least three seasons of material. First season was the the first game, but going forward they’re going to basically have 2 protagonists in every season and there’s a lot of flashback stuff they could turn into episodes if they want.

Wages have objectively risen more than inflation during the entire Biden administration, and this is *specifically* true for the lowest 20% of wage earners.

Yes. Go on about this magical ‘inflation’ thing that only ever seems to be a problem when right-wing assclowns aren’t in power. Just like how the ‘deficit’ is only ever a problem under the same conditions. Even though both of them consistently get worse when they *are* in power.

,“I would like this to be a place where impartiality rules,” Palihapitiya said about All-In.”

Silicon Valley has always been a place for unconventional thinkers with big ideas...”

Literally when has this ever been true? This cohort is the most chickenshit Emperor’s New Clothes Groupthink cargo cult possible, particularly once any of them actually get money.

Plus, a lot of the names on this list *were already

I mean the financial difficulties the company has faced at the corporate level. They’ve got a ton of debt and have been looking for someone to buy them for quite awhile. Their merger with Skydance is currently pending. Skydance has indicated they are mostly interested in Paramount Pictures rather than CBS or

The studio has basically said it needs to get acquired in order to continue existing, no?

Yeah, I get the sense that Kurtzman was basically told: Wind down every existing Trek show (except SNW, which may get another season or two) and you get one new one, and Kurtzman chose Starfleet Academy because he’s closer to it than Legacy, which very much seems to be Terry Matalas’s thing.

Given the amount of disarray Paramount is in these days I’m amazed we’re even still getting that Starfleet Academy series. I’d really like to see Legacy become a thing. Maybe with Disco and Lower Decks finishing there will be budget for that? But I imagine Legacy would cost a fair bit more than either of those shows

More examples of how being rich doesn’t mean you have common sense.  You get lucky with some geeky idea and then suddenly your accountant is telling you how Biden is taking a big chunk of your money and you turn into a libertarian.  Forget about the hundreds of ways Trump is worse than Biden - Trump will cut my

They can blow as much smoke as they want and spout catchy phrases like “radicalization to the center” (while supporting the farthest radical right-wing candidate ever) but I’m sure what it comes down to is they just want less taxes for their rich asses and less regulation so they can bleed more money off their

I suspect based on the wording here that they are planning more episodes like Long, Long Time where they delve deep into other characters stories. I'm honestly really okay with that since that was a standout episode last season.

Did you read the article? They’re already getting 3 seasons. This article is talking about how it might take more than 3.

I am not super worried. what we can expect in season 2 is likely only going to cover up until the plot point that will not be spoiled. which at that pace 2 seasons to cover Abby and Ellie’s stories after that makes sense based on the amount of minutes the season seem to be averaging. not to mention if they keep the

Yes, streaming has an impact. With no evidence of those streaming numbers we cannot determine how much of an impact so implying the numbers are somehow the same or higher when the network numbers are demonstrably lower than previous seasons, (when the show was streaming elsewhere as well) is bad faith.

So, not engaging in a good faith conversation, got it. Good talk.

good call.
