I thought the series, in terms of villians, was all down hill after season one. But how naturally and organically they pulled of the relationship, especially when you watched the whole series. It was never there for shock or token purposes, just a solid story.
I thought seasons 3 and 4 were fantastic. The only “less good” one, in my mind, is season 2. The fights in season 4 alone (especially the finale) were absolutely bonkers.

Not at all, I loved the final season. Great villain, it pulled together everyone she had met throughout the series and had this epic final showdown. Great run overall.

I enjoyed the last two seasons more than the first two, so it didn’t feel like such a sudden reversal for me, but it definitely ended on a high note, which many shows fail to accomplish.
