It’s cool, but is it worth the investment for a business? Likely no.  Is it worth it for historical purposes? Also, likely no.  The cost-benefit ratio is just not there, and that money can do more good in other places.  I hope it works out but reality sometimes sucks.

Does anyone really think they will remember Boston Market in six months? This is no great loss.

You are not wrong...and I had TWO pots and accessories at one point.. but fondue is a great social night out. In? Less so. And who wants a pot of hot oil on a table? Who wants to do all that cutting hahaha

This is one of the very few exceptions to my hatred of chain restaurants. Anyone can find an independent sandwich, steak, pizza, burger, Mexican, Italian, casual, or fine dining establishment without much trouble or effort. Laziness keeps Applebees and Olive Garden alive, that and low standards.

Or...most of America.

Grilled marinated cabbage steaks are amazing - just make 2-3cm slices of cabbage, a brief marinade in whatever feels right to you (I like a hoisin or teriyaki marinade, but BBQ or a vinegar-based Italian-style works well too) and throw on a well-oiled grill until you see a slight char.  Helps keep all the food in one

That’s where I go to my new philosophy (is that too pretentious, or WAAAAAAY too pretentious?) of eating out less often but doing it RIGHT (local, high quality, really enjoying it). I used to go out three or four nights or days a week and would spend about $200 per week, but now it is once a week but I’ll drop that

Don’t forget to bring your towel!

I am always amazed that Bananas that come from thousands of miles away are so cheap while apples picked less than 100 miles away are so much more expensive.  We have food choices that would boggle the minds of people just a few hundred years ago - I am not that old but I remember the treat it was to get a box of

God I love my town, my Philly...a food fight with $1 dogs is amazing.

You settle for a shitty JJ sandwich because it’s fast?

Correction: No comparison with a REAL sub shop, independently owned and operated. ALL the chain sub shops are terrible. ALL OF THEM. If you think differently, you are delusional or have never had a real hoagie.

Isn’t that much of the point of travel, being adventurous and trying new things?  “I went to NYC and all I got was this T-Shirt and Lettuce Wraps” is a lousy way to live...

How about an option to GO bottomless there? Air it out on a hot summer day sans-culottes?

Posting as an avid anti-golfer. My 3rd summer of college I bought a set of clubs, hit the local public course, and taught myself to play since EVERYONE was playing in my circle. After a month or so of three to five rounds a week I broke 100. Sold my clubs in the parking lot and never played again. Ugh what a stupid

Texas Hold’em is popular for a reason (it’s fast, easy, and like Craps can be boisterous) but I prefer the old-school five-card, seven-card, high or low hand bid “saloon” poker of old.  Something about a table full of players there for the night, hanging out, shooting the shit, drinking and playing ‘real’ poker has a

OMG HAHAHAHAHA that’s awesome, take your start.

Ugh I hate Costco...something about the mega big-box that is so off-putting, it just makes competing impossible for the small guys.  I don’t want to live in a world of Costco/BJ’s/Wal-Mart as the only options...

No.

Take-and-bake pizza is really the best of both worlds, a good pizza when you want it fresh at home.  Philly has a GREAT take-and-bake places all over town...
