I forgot to mention I’m in Australia, but we have Shell stations here so maybe we will get it eventually.

I hope you’re right - I’d love an app-free charging experience if I manage to get an EV for my next car.  As for them making money off externals, that’s fine, as we don’t have to buy them.  Ideally, some forward-thinking brand of fuel will start switching some pumps for chargers over time (providing it’s possible) and

They don’t give a shit about your ease of charging, it’s all about data - that’s why they won’t do something as simple as what you suggest - because they get nothing from the transaction beyond your payment.

Cruise control and USB music playback.  I didn’t have either before my last two cars and wouldn’t give them up now. I understand that I likely won’t have to go without them, but I would walk away from a car that doesn’t have them.

Legends Of Speed - Bill Woods. It chronicles Australia’s journey through motorsport from Tony Gaze, WW2 Spitfire pilot and Australia’s first Formula 1 driver in 1952, through to Mark Webber racing F1 in the modern era. I learnt a lot about our pioneer drivers reading this book.

The crawler is my favourite vehicle of the space program. I went to IMAX to see the Apollo 11 documentary from a few years ago and the first image is a closeup of the crawler.  You can imagine the impact of it at that size. Anyone interested should watch this documentary (it’s now available in 4K)

Please don’t ruin my favourite Simpsons episode with that image.

Holden Commodore ute, so there would be an electric replacement for mine in a few years, when I hope to trade it for an EV of some sort.

All the stars. Brazil has been in my top five movies for decades now. Love it.

I don’t yet know which vehicle it will be, but I hope it will be electric.  If we could get the Lightning in Australia, that would be ideal.

My uncle had a Kawasaki 900 when I was a kid in the 1970's. I don’t think it was the top-spec version like this one, but it was fast enough when he took me for a ride on it.

885 feet

It’s 270m high at the road level - does that really sound like a ‘regular old valley’ to you?

Well done, Michael Bolton!

I still need to carry things, so a Taycan wagon would be nice, but I’d probably ruin it somehow (and probably me as well). So it’s the Volvo XC40 Recharge - haven’t driven it, but reviews say it’s good to drive with enough interest when you push the go-pedal, and has the room I need to transport my paintings in

I’m in Australia, but I also spent every Sunday for about two months checking the used lot many years ago before I found a car I liked - it was sitting undetailed off to the side. This also happened with my current ute - the salesman didn’t even know it had been put on their website, so I saw it on Saturday, drove it

Amazing - given it’s my turn to win the lottery this week, I’ll be shopping there soon. F40 for me, though.

If you like cooking outdoors, have we got some wheels for you!

Plex remains a niche application for people with the knowledge and skill to make use of it. So most people won’t see this new feature in action - that’s all I meant. It might be an excellent addition to a good program but won’t have a big user base amongst the ‘tech illiterate’, to use your phrase.

You realise that I know my parents a little better than you - but thanks for your input.
