I think his book will be vastly different from the direction the show runners went and he’s holding off publishing it until the series ends so as not to tank the TV show. (And yes, I am, as a matter f fact, somewhat of an optimist.  Occasionally.)

That sounds like a lot of work. It seems the real secret is cheap labor.

Yeah, I hope so.

Unless you are making a romantic, for that you need a Lover not a Hader.

Definitely the wrong tactic for keeping me from watching it. Since everyone and their mother ragged on the show I gave it a try and up to now, have watched the first four eps. The writing is often incoherent, jumping from one character to the next without finishing the thought, the actors only came around playing it sl

I ignored the pre-show criticism after the overreaction to the trailer, which to me sold a crazy-ass black comedy. That’s exactly what I got and then some. I did go back and read some reviews later. I still have no idea what show they were watching, because it wasn’t the one I watched.

I enjoyed the show so much, I ran it back with my wife.

The interesting thing about what Netflix chooses to renew and not renew is that it seems to be revealing about what people are actually watching, rather than what they say they’re watching.

I’m sure some people would cancel, but probably not nearly this many.  It’s easy to get worked up about a hypothetical situation and then not follow through.

You should see the Gilligan’s Island internet trolls, they can’t believe the black and white actors were replaced with coloured ones in 1965.

Star Wars is a movie. ‘A New Hope’ was added in 1981.

The answer to that question is neither “a” or “b”. The correct answer is “c”. Leave a zero tip and make sure that you tell the waiter why.

Agreed with you on points 1, 3, 4, and 5, but “I (heart) Boobies” bracelets are a promo item for a breast cancer awareness charity (www.keep-a-breast.org) aimed at young people, so not entirely nefarious. Of course, I don’t know if these were being worn by teenage boys who got a kick out of the word “boobies” and

The question should have been “After waiting 3 hours for my food am I still required to tip 20% or is 15% suitable”.

If the service sucked, by all means write a Yelp review.

On the other hand, if you went to a restaurant and the service was awesome... write a Yelp review too.

interesting theory that Bird never fully thought out the implications the movies politics but there’s more evidence that it’s as subversion of Rand: a hero who breaks down and tells his family that he can’t put them in danger because he’s not strong enough to lose them again, is certainly no Howard Roark.

I suppose most sitcoms don’t have that one person who keeps track of the details of every character’s life anyway. I think How I Met Your Mother might have had one though, which would be the exception.

Cuaron made the first serious Potter film, Order of the Phoenix was the first and maybe only truly great Harry Potter film, and the series ended much stronger than it started. Azkhaban is pretty dark and clever, the studio took a step back with Golblet of Fire, and I credit Cuaron for helping to prove that Harry

It’s funny. Despite generally loving UK versions of things most, I could never get into the UK Office. It’s too brutal. (I’m really not a fan of cringe comedy.) I found the US version also hard to get into for the same reasons, but they seeded just enough humanity in that first season and wow, the payoffs if you stick
