Good thing you worked in an immunology lab instead of a chemistry lab. When you find an unopened 19 year-old box there, there's a decent chance the bomb squad might need to be called

I'm really surprised it didn't sell during the pandemic, when we had the whole car shortage thing going on.

I used to work in a bike shop, and we had a similar story with a few year old bike. It was a common model, and iirc we actually did get a replacement, but it originally got pushed far back into a corner, and became a parts bike... like if another bike showed up with a part DOA, we’d just snag it from that parts bike

Most of these I feel got relegated to service loaner status, then parked out back one day and discovered in an audit when a new dealership group takes over and they magically find it

When I worked in clothing retail, I (an introvert) would beg to spend large chunks of my shifts managing inventory and dressing the store, rather than aggressively upselling our customers. One day I was reorganizing the stock room and uncovered an entire box of beautiful dresses that I’d never seen before, not even on

It was most likely used by the owner’s kids, with a dealer tag on it. Maybe a rental or service loaner, but those are typically reported as fleet or service, to get those incentives. There is an outside chance that it was sold and by accident never reported, and turned up somewhere for warranty work or recall and

Hey, I’ll settle for a new Chevy Volt or Impala, Ford Taurus or Chrysler 200 (with the V-6) if I can find one. I’ll take the risks with deterioration.

heart warming, you gotta dig it when decision makers say “let’s do this”. on fun projects like this.

I actually dig the N inspired on the door. Though they should have done N Spired

So that’s five in a year - Elon has five going with three months left in this year. At this pace, he can do it!

Ford has entered the chat.

I don’t know if posting this take on Jalopnik dot com should be considered brave or asking for it, but best of luck to you. You’re gonna need it.

What happened to the days of my ‘88 Pulsar NX? That was a cool little car. Nissan used to be 90% of the quality of a Honda or Toyota at 80% of the price, so a good deal. Now I can’t think of a current-ish model name other than the Altima, Z and GTR. Existentially does Nissan still exist?

The Subaru B9 Tribeca almost had a sister. GM owned 20% of Subaru at the time (which got us the Saab 9-2X aka Saabaru and a Chevrolet Forester in India). The 9-6X would have been the third collaboration, and would have been a somewhat restyled B9 Tribeca. But that project was canceled when GM sold it stake in Subaru

Outside of Saudi Arabia, rich Saudis do things that would make Caligula blush.

Sounds like NASCAR is following the TicketMaster/LiveNation method of acquiring all the venues so they can charge whatever they feel.

I don’t think a slight whiff of hypocrisy is a problem for them if it means even more money.

The Good: NASCAR needs 23XI more than the people that own 23XI need NASCAR (Hamlin could retire any year now, and MJ could do literally anything else). 23XI is probably the only org that has that kind of leverage over NASCAR, and I’m all for them using the hell out of it.

Good for Michael Jordan. Someone with enough personal wealth behind him to mount such a legal challenge against NASCAR.
