I understand very well what Munchausen-by-proxy is.

I thought Laura Bush has always been pro-women’s rights. Not that it’s a high bar but perhaps an unexpected one.

Barbara jr has always been like this! Jenna you’d want to party on Bourbon street with but Barbara you’d invite to book club

It’s awful to say,BUT I ALWAYS LIKED HER BETTER.

Good for her!

I know this isn’t a very extreme case of it, but I honestly live for women who grow up and say ‘fuck you’ to their fathers’ restrictive view points.

Nope. That’s become such a buzzword these days, and it’s really not applicable here. The key component of Munchausen Syndrome or MBPS is attention seeking behavior through exaggerated or manufactured illness, disease or, as in proxy cases, even death so that the “bereaved” parent gets pity and sympathy. While

Lol ok dude, you asked a question and I answered it. Byeeeeeee!

what? i’m not sure what you mean lol. i’m just saying that’s not what Munchausen-by-proxy is

She wanted to but her mom wouldn’t let her. Cindy Anthony wanted to play Mommy and talked her daughter out of it.

I am a pretty active reader of a subreddit for unresolved mysteries, and a user did a very thorough writeup of this case that I really recommend. She posits that Caylee’s death was an accident, that she probably drowned in the pool, and that Casey panicked and had her father help cover it up. She provides some very

No, her fuck up was not paying attention and not doing her damn job. Sure, Brian fucked up, but part of the reason she’s even there is to help correct these exact mistakes. She fucked up too and deserves blame.

Yeah, wtf, PWC?! Brian was the dumbass playing on his phone all night and somehow it’s equally Martha’s fault that she didn’t fix his stupid mistake fast enough?

So, just to be clear, dude massively fucks up, woman gets equally blamed for not covering his ass quickly enough? Figures.

I think this is something that always struck me as odd about the US - there’s a streak of patriotism (if you can call it that) that will allow no criticism of the armed forces and soldiers and sometimes the President, while simultaneously and without any trace of self awareness declare the United States the freest

We did astoundingly well in terms of actually waging the war and carrying out combat operations. Our military losses were very low, all things considered. Especially compared to situations like Vietnam, where military losses were much, much higher.

I’ve read a few studies that show that when you tell Americans how many soldiers died during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan it makes them support America’s war efforts more, not less. The sunk cost fallacy is a crazy thing.

Slap a yellow magnate on your car & call it good! But when the leeches need help after returning don’t forget to complain about the cost (in dollars, none of these flag-waving jackasses care about the human cost)

As a vet myself this is something everyone needs to understand: sometimes American Soldiers die for no good reason. They die in accidents, in blue-on-blue attacks, from improper medical care, in stupid wars, in badly planned missions. It happens. “Soldiers have died” is not a reason to keep fighting in and of itself.

Pink Skull is correct here. If the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had been waged by conscripted troops instead of ROTC kids and outright mercs, the War on Terror would be over by now. There’d be like a Weather Underground-esque wing of Anonymous under FBI and DHS investigation. Mass protests in D.C. on the reg. Etc.
