The “paperboy” on his bike doesn’t exist anymore, and paper routes these days do actually pay a livable wage.

Or more realistically, he looked at the current pay rate for certain types of vehicles, looked at UBER’s loan program and then made a decision that he would be able to make enough money to both pay off the loan and make take home cash.

You should be able to live off of working 40 hours per week.

Pretty sure Über’s been throwing itself under the bus since its “disruptive” unvetted-rapey-driver inception, couple two three years now. Way before even Candidate Trump. And it is now crystal clear that like all dysfunctional entities, it starts at the top- regardless of how cool and good an idea looks on paper.

Nah, they advertised it as a viable full time job with inflated numbers, and suggested drivers go buy/lease new cars for their new full time job. They had to pay out money for this false advertising.

Lol, screw this whole company.

That and they’re claiming their sentences are unfair based on those that made deals. Except that’s the entire incentive in making a deal - you get a lighter sentence and the state doesn’t have to spend time and money trying you.

Wait. That was their defense? That they weren’t the ones who threatened the partygoers? Man, fuck y’all. You rolled up six or seven cars deep into a mostly African-American neighborhood with Confederate flags flying from every single vehicle. You purposely went out looking for a fucking conflict, and when you noticed

Also, maybe I’m reading the article incorrectly, but didn’t she actually do the stuff she is saying she would never do?

thats because racism has not only been legitimized, its been deemed patriotism.

“I would never ...” = “I didn’t realize there would be consequences for my actions.” Which is why we are seeing an uptick in racist and anti-Semitic acts; people are getting the message that they can get away with it.

“Bomp bomp”

I was having this conversation with a few friends this morning. It’s almost impossible to pick just one, but I do think this is the most offensive thing anyone in his cabinet has said so far.

“When this great nation was established, the African-American community experienced unemployment close to 0% in certain portions of the country.”

DeVos went on to express nostalgia for “nearly full employment of the antebellum plantation system.”

Nashville would have been such a good show if it had even moderately better writers

I love her too, but Rayna, not Connie was the wooooooorst. She was a drag every time she was on screen. I never thought I liked HP as an actress, but I ended up loving Juliette (I stopped at the end of season 3) and thought her storylines had a good mix of completely sad and horrible and some campy fun.

I have been waiting, this WHOLE time, for them to finally kill off Scarlett. Mumblemouthed, depressing beyond compare, wishy washy, dull as fuck Scarlett and they kill Rayna?! Bye Nashville. Lucky Spencer isn’t on enough to keep me watching.

Agreed. I actually really enjoyed the first season, but then it just got too depressing in the following seasons.

I started watching because of Connie, but it turns out that she was really the weak link on this show, not in terms of acting, but in terms of storylines (also singing, but that’s not her fault). I’d much rather see a show about Juliette Barnes and Scarlett and Gunnar and Will Lexington than see Rayna and Deacon fight
