The wall is going to cost billions of dollars and wont work. There are also republicans proposing that prisoners be forced to work on the wall for free. So, slavery.

They don’t care about that. These are the same people who tell African Americans to “go back to Africa,” completely disregarding the fact that their ancestors were forcibly removed from their homeland, families ripped apart, and sold into slavery.

Yup. NPR even interview a cartel member about their thoughts on the wall a few days ago and they pretty much laughed it off. The only things that worried them were drone flights and IR/nightvision sensors.

It’ll be interesting to see how they try to get around South Dakota v. Dole and the first ACA Supreme Court case. The federal government can’t just strip all federal funding because the states refuse to carry out federal policy. The question is, are the Trump administration lawyers smart enough to fit their policy…

It’s going to cost a lot of money and we aren’t getting it funded by Mexico. So in that sense, after we slash taxes on corporations and rich and transfer our 2nd largest source of federal funds (National Lands) to the state level, we will have no way to effectively pay for it.

It would be pretty funny to watch the GOP fall in love with eminent domain and government seizure of Western lands. I would enjoy that, at least.

Plus, the feds don’t own a lot of that land, so the gov’t would have to buy it and/or use eminent domain to take it.

I don’t really give a shit about the wall either. You know who actually gives a shit? The ranchers who border the rio grande. You can’t build the wall on Mexico’s side of the rio grande, so you have to build it on our side and cut off the rancher’s access to the river. Should be very interesting...

I’m much more concerned about the sanctuary cities than the wall. Yes, the wall is a stupid waste of money and rude, but I don’t see it doing serious damage to the country (I might not know enough about the issue, though).
