You know who did ask for this child to be brought into the world? Sherri Shepard.

I worked in oil and gas for a long time and the EPA didn’t kill jobs or hinder business. As long as you follow the protocols and steps, and sometimes keep an open mind (e.g. can’t put the pipeline there because you’d have to helicopter in materials to avoid elk calving? What if we reroute under a golf course?),

Nah, fuck her. She agreed to the surrogacy. She was all on board. Then she bailed and suddenly the kid isn’t her responsibility? NOPE. That kid is only here because Sherri helped bring it here. She damn well needs to step up.

I don’t think he’s a gold digger just because he expects his kid to have adequate medical care for its condition, when the child has a rich celebrity parent.

This wasn’t done without Sherri’s permission, though. She agreed to this and signed documents acknowledging that she would be the child’s mother. I don’t know how others would feel, but if a man agrees to have a child using donor sperm, I think he’s as responsible for that child as any other father.

He is not a gold digger because he’s staying at home raising their kid, who has a medical condition.

She doesn’t just “come off” as unsympathetic, she abandoned that kid, She agreed to this arrangement and the procedure that resulted in this child. Just because things went bad after the fact does NOT absolve her from her obligations. She is selfish, vindictive and an all around horrific person.

I feel so bad for that poor child. :(

Why is he a gold digger because he stood by the commitment he made to have and raise his child? Why is he a gold digger for seeking an increase in child support when her income went up. That’s how it works. It’s standard practice and, in fact, parents are legally obligated to inform the court when their income

That whole exploiting the child’s blood disorder comment really got me. For someone who blathers on about Christianity, none of her actions seem very “Christian” to me.

The child support should be what it should be, but Sherri continues to look like an asshole here. She is by no means the first person of either gender to end up with a child she wishes she never had with a partner she wishes she never met. The decent thing to do here would have been to make support payments from the

That whole Sherry Shepherd case makes me pretty uncomfortable. Her ex probably is a gold digger, however she comes off as very unsympathetic to the child, who asked for none of this.

That poor child.

Yes. Burn down the political opposition to Republicans. Great idea.

If every single Democrat doesn’t vote against DeVos, I will snap. She is a horrible monstrous person.

There is a small part of me that thinks this is part of a “lose a battle; win the war” strategy. As in let this one go in order to stop a worse pick, then go back and get rid of him after he has hung himself.

I can only assume (hope?) they are backing him because they have bigger fish to fry in terms of the cabinet nominees (like they’ve made a deal that they’ll back him if so-and-so doesn’t back someone else?). This still feels like a betrayal, but there are worse cabinet picks, imo.

Sure, because who the fuck cares that a pig farm had a containment pond fail and sends millions of gallons of pig shit into the local water supply. Or that a chemical company dumps decades worth of harmful chemicals into the ground right next to a school or a neighborhood, it’s on their own property.

So the recent greatest economic disaster since the Great Depression was caused by... the EPA and unions and regulatory agencies and not Wall St.?

You need clean air and water in order to have people. Air and water have to come first.
