With how well cars are built, a new one is a luxury these days. A new car purchase can easily last fifteen years. There’s really no need to buy a new car if you already have something that gets you to the grocery store and your financial future is uncertain. I mean it’s not like any of us are allowed to go anywhere,…
I suppose, but personally I’d rather a fully loaded special edition car for $40k than a base something else for $40k. In the grand scheme of things, a $40,000 car really isn’t all that expenses compared to what most people are buying. I’d much rather be in a CTR than in some bland vanilla CUV for $40,000.
I hope this sells well, because THIS is the bike Harley-Davidson should be producing. THIS is a bike that will appeal to millennial buyers as they reach an age where they have disposable income to purchase new motorcycles with.
I’m in my 20s and have a newer motorcycle, I’ve actually purchased two brand new a Honda Grom and a Triumph Street Triple. Lot’s of my riding buddies also have new bikes, but they’re all things like Yamaha FZ09, Kawasaki Z900s, etc. Right now sub $10,000 naked bikes seem to be all the rage. I know one guy who has a…
Oh god that’s an ugly front bumper. I’m glad this isn’t for sale here.
One of my big peeves as well! Journalists seem confused on what class vehicles fall into lately. I’ve even seen sedans and hatches refereed to as cross overs lately when they’re clearly not. I’m pretty sure there was a comparison somewhat recently where they were legitimately calling the Kia Soul a SUV.
Yeah I’m with you, I seemed to be eternally grayed out. I have no freakin’ clue why. Jalopnik comments are the worst. I’m starting to wonder if the non grayed comments are even real people.
I’m actually really digging it, I don’t need the full size Bronco I need something efficient that’s just large enough to carry my mountain bike kit. Currently I have a 2014 Escape that fills the role, but this looks to be even better. If it’s offered with the 2.0L Ecoboost and can tow at least 3,500 lbs I’m gonna…
Honestly, that 2012 Escape is probably one of my favorite looking CUVs of all time. I was super bummed when the 2013 Kuga got rebaged into an Escape.
Have you driven a CUV lately? They’re actually pretty good vehicles. The Escape for instance handles fairly well for non sporting applications, has plenty of acceleration, better usable interior volume than a similar sized car, and is easier to get in and out of than a low car.
Well, I guess it can now be referenced as a “SUV” by the Mercedes marketing department.
I’m not, the problem with those 200 hp bikes is that they make all their power up top. This is a cruiser after all, so the idea is to have all the power available all the time down low in the RPMs. This motor is much better suited to general street riding than say an RSV4 motor, IMO.
The wing definitely needs to be larger.
I just checked out the configuration, it doesn’t look like any new Minis are available as a manual. At least not any of the 2-door hardtops.
I’m betting it’s still slower than a Ford Escape, Edge, or Explorer with an Ecoboost motor. Hell, I’d also take a CX5 turbo over this thing.
I’ve seen quite a few in person, mostly at the local Cars and Coffee though. They seem to travel in packs. The white is actually quite handsome in person. These cars definitely present better in real life.
Did you personally decide against upgrading to a new car? What stopped you from buying?
The cost of living is pretty low here around Chicago... just sayin’.
Sometimes paying extra at the dealer is definitely worth it. On a recent road trip to Toronto my Ford Escape decided to blow out it’s rear suspension. The local Ford dealer was able to get me up and running the same day. The few local shops I called around to either didn’t seem to want to help me out or couldn’t get…
