I'm looking at it from a utilitarian perspective here. If he wants to go on dates, he needs to get (somewhat) over the self-loathing. That is fact, whether he likes it or not. It's just the way things are, and it isn't fair but nobody wants to be around a person who is constantly getting down on himself.

Alright, then. Good luck.

Fuck yeah, Rigs! You tell 'em!

It's not the body issues; everybody has body issues. It's the resignation involved. That's what is unattractive. All I'm saying is that the "Eeyore" thing might be the issue.

Might be your attitude is the problem.

I wrote to him (and Siskel) when I was a kid and got a personalized autograph from the two of them. It's one of my favorite keepsakes.

That's what I liked about him too; he let people draw their own conclusions.

I miss Roger Ebert so much. His reviews were not just reviews, they were art. Good for Chaz. I am so glad she's keeping the site going and honoring his memory like this.

"Honey, if you call and I'm not home I'll be at the gym or the gun club."

Kristen Wiig can do no wrong in my eyes. This character never fails to crack me up.

Sure, but can you see how it might come off as pretty tone-deaf to those of us who do/did attend games and thus are affected by the policy? They caught a lot of flack for the rule in the first place so this stuff comes off as very oblivious to me.

I don't think it is irrelevant, actually. It's hypocrisy and capitalism at its finest. The NFL alienates half the population by telling women we can't bring our purses in to the games and then turns around and tries to sell us...purses? What in the everloving fuck.

That lighting is terrible! He looks just like Smeagol!

This. There have been Gawker media articles covering the fact that Asperger's is now a part of the spectrum. Great researching, Doug Barry! Another homerun article with some really crack reporting!

I'm having a really shitty conversation in IRC with a guy who thinks that while rape culture is real, we shouldn't be offended by people who don't think it's real. And we should be civil. And we should be "respectful." After the conversations I had in GT today about tone-policing (which I was doing, admittedly) and

You're Cressida, aren't you.

Finally someone is on the case! I can rest easy and enjoy my weekend now, thank you!

They're missing the real story here, which is: WHERE IS HER SCRUNCHIE?

Oh, Burt. I love it when you're on weekend duty. It's like when your parents hire that cool, laid-back babysitter who would let you eat cookies for dinner.
