No I didn't say it was less invasive nor am I against all gun regulation. I think that right now it's better to have the safety in place regardless. At this point we KNOW schools are the location for most of these shootings. Edit: This is my view independent of gun laws.

No, I don't think it would. But if he's got some kind of antisocial personality disorder or is a psychopath the Asperger's may have added an element to the interpersonal relations thing you were talking about. I'm not saying it's relevant to anything but understanding what the brain chemistry and psychological profile

Got it, but it's a mental condition that might be relevant given he supposedly also had a personality disorder.

Even if you do a detailed psych eval on someone (say in this case the shooter's mother who owned the guns) that doesn't keep them from getting into the wrong hands. I'm saying we need to reform mental healthcare.

That's a good blanket thing for every state (gun registration I mean), IMO, as is a tougher restriction on concealed carry.

How is it a right to go to school without a pat down and metal detectors? This isn't the 50's and this stuff isn't going away. Places where children congregate should AT LEAST be given the same security measures as places where people take freaking airplanes. Go off all you want on the gun laws but those metal

I just read that the shooter had a personality disorder and Asperger's. So everything you said is right on point.

Yup. But when it comes down to it, six bullets is still six bullets. I can't even. Today is the wrong day for me to be on the internet.

Basically that's the law in many places, including Chicago and yet Chicago has one of the highest crime and murder rates in the country. So now what?

This. Gun control doesn't fix all the systemic issues that are the reasoning behind people using guns in this manner.

Unfortunately this discussion never gets past the question you just asked because people who are crying about gun control right now haven't actually figured out how that all should go down. What about the people who already own guns? Are they to be confiscated? Longer waiting periods...okay...but then what? People can

Katie, just stop for today. I know you're angry but this is becoming ridiculous.

This.
