It was definitely bronze colored in the most recent episode. Other shots early on in the series, it was a dark/metallic look in my opinion but again we only saw distant shots in dark settings.

Reading a prepared speech is very different from a live debate.

“Where was this guy last night?”

Turnip for President!

As I’ve said elsewhere, I’d vote for a turnip if it was the only alternative to Trump.  Unfortunately, not everyone feels that way.

I’d vote for a turnip if it meant preventing Trump’s return to power, but not everyone feels the way I do.

from what ive read this episode was very dark and hard to see. theres also more fragmentation than ever when it comes to the displays that people use to watch anything star wars but especially streaming. tvs with different display technologies (oled vs led, etc), but also tablets and phones, night mode, blue filters,

It looks black and dark especially in earlier scenes due to the lighting, but the more they focus on it and the more attention and lighting it gets it’s pretty obviously metallic and not black. I think a lot of it also has to do with “black = Sith” in peoples’ minds.

With the Supreme Court ruling today, unless Congress passes a law explicitly stating this, this will never hold up in court.

how last night debate should have ended

I never really liked Tyler Mane as Sabertooth. Sure he sort of looks the part, but he didn’t have the personality of the character. Sabertooth is physically a big hulking beast, but he’s also a manipulator, a clever character who knows how to get into Logan’s head. Liev Schreiber didn’t really embody Sabertooth’s

He sure did. I guess he went all Hollywood and got veneers.

Yeah, this movie (part one of four!) looks like an “America! Fuck Yeah!” wank-fest. The thing that really got me was looking through the named cast and finding it pasty fucking white.

C’mon, 1987-1991 is pretty clearly peak Costner (with Perfect World and Tin Cup representing some later-’90s highlights). I feel like it’s pretty ungenerous (or just unrealistic) to say he peaked *before* Bull Durham/Field of Dreams!

Unforgiven made the same comment, that gunfights weren’t between dead shots hitting people with one try.  They were chaotic messes.

It didn’t get much buzz at release but I’ve probably seen it a half-dozen times since and yeah, it’s an absolutely fantastic western. I agree it could probably be cut down a bit, but like with Wolves part of what makes it great is living with the characters for a while before the final act. You get to know and like

It’s heartening to see occasional commenters not just how good Open Range is. It really is terrific, the requisite big gunfight is fantastic, and it’s full of detail you don’t often see.

“I just read the greatest screenplay ever written!”
“Oh yeah? Who wrote it?”
“I did!”
