I love the Blade movies. I’m giving up on this one though; shame on ya’ll for getting my hopes up.

Some motherfuckin movie studios are always trying to ice skate uphill
That’s not true.
I liked Men in Tights when I came out and before I was aware enough to realize how much Brooks just stole jokes from his own previous movies. (The moving mole? Young Frankenstein. The musical number? BOTH YF and History of the World Part I. Etc.)
Ludicrous! Hopefully it will neither blow nor suck.
I’d rather watch actual wild hogs
I’m sure it will uphold the Blues Brothers legacy of essential belated sequels to beloved movies.
“Just handed in a film script that I think may be the funniest and best thing I’ve ever worked on...” doesn’t mean a whole lot coming from Josh Gad.
I think I’m good. As much as I want a new Mel Brooks movie, if History of the World Part 2 is any indication of his current output, I don’t want it.
This is really not a big deal. Less than 10% of people commute 25 miles each way, and you’re understating the range that 120v charging gets you to try to make the math not work. We’ll be fine without a ton of Level 2 chargers. They are nice to have, not necessary.
The 100K figure was just me remembering incorrectly, having been incensed by this when I first heard about it, and then incensed again when I got this year’s renewal bill from the state, where they admitted that they didn’t even know exactly what the amount would be, somehow.
Nevertheless, as you say, at $0.20 per…
Google says the gas tax in Texas is $0.20 per gallon. Google also says that in 2021 average MPG accross all vehicles was 25.4 MPG. So, on average, its 25,400 miles per year to hit that $200, which is a LOT of driving. Is it too high? Of course, but 100k miles to recoup is ridiculous, maybe even disingenuous.
So the standard U.S. outlet is 110 volt 15 amp, roughly 1.6 kw and the Europeans have 220 volt 10 amp, for 2.2 kw. That’s not twice as much. In my house, I have 220 volt 30 amp service for dryer, stove, water heater. That’s 6.6 kw. I’ve got a 200 amp entry in the house and also one in the shop. Putting in a 220 volt…
“Likely not enough to get all of them back to full charge before they go home.”
Right, most people look at what can I afford NOW. Paying more up front for less cost down the line is not a luxury many people have. I just bought a bike bag online for $55. I was offered it for 4 easy payments...some idiot who can’t swing $55 is going to finance that bag. Same with cars.
People are currently out there getting 15% interest rates on CPO BMWs. Absolutely nobody cares about total cost of ownership.
I would be genuinely shocked if more than 25% of ‘the masses’ know what TCO is, how to calculate it, and actually go through the effort to do so. If people were rational car buyers on a national scale, 3-row SUVs & trucks probably would not have replaced mini vans and sedans at the scale they have.
Came to say the same thing - in fact I expect to see down the thread the usual lies that EVs are worse for the environment than ICE vehicles, and that batteries need to be replaced every 5/7/10 years (all untrue) at the cost of a new vehicle.
Part of the problem is indeed that infrastructure for charging has lagged too far behind, but another problem is that anti-EV disinformation is so prevalent and even makes its way onto “trusted” sources.
