Are you crazy? People will lose healthcare. Free speech is being curtailed. Science is being attacked. States are trying to pass laws that allow cops to shoot protesters, civilians to run them over, and law enforcement agencies to sue them. Hate crimes against non-white people, Jews, and Muslims have increased. They

It is something I have often thought about Thicht Nhat Hanh (who is struggling with health issues, himself, of late)... He was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr. I mean, doubtlessly (and rightly), many people nominated King for the Peace Prize, but to have been nominated by King, himself?

I think changing the laws regarding reproductive rights definitely effects all women. When I said white women show up in droves for that cause, what I meant is that, for some reason, they believe it’s of direct consequence to them so they are there in full force. I’m not saying they shouldn’t show up for that because

Here it is: white women NEVER want to be blamed. Ever. I can’t count the number of times I have heard white people argue that one black person represents all black people. But somehow you are exempt from this methodology? The division is not false, it is super real, and your comment shows exactly why we still live

But also, apparently, if too many white people show up that’s also bad? From the interview:

Well, maybe, but also quite possibly not.

“You need to organize your people”

It’s a well composed photo, but like the famous one of young people in Brooklyn on 9/11, it shows a narrative that might not be the one going on.

But to accuse women who are brave enough to talk honestly about their own experiences of creating division is ridiculous. That’s your division there. I felt good, and

“Oh, I’m so ashamed.” Don’t be ashamed; organize your people.

DC was EVERYTHING I needed and more. Screaming at the Trump Hotel (I actually got a good “FUCK TRUMP” chant going, pretty proud of that), seeing all the amazingly witty and wonderful signs, getting to be around so many amazing people of all descriptions united in resistance — was empowering, cathartic — and everyone

The Mennonite Church contingent in Washington DC.

My fav sign was one that just said “Leviticus 19:33-34". My brother and I were unfamiliar with the verse and thought maybe the person was trolling, so we looked it up. It says, “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born.

Apparently this also happened yesterday. For those unfamiliar, Sikhs have a tradition of offerings free meals on a daily basis at their temples. Large temples pride themselves on being open to feed people 24 hours a day.

Not sure which March this is from, but I thought this was worth sharing.

In Oakland today, a few of my favorites:

I will post it again. I loved this one.

I am really frustrated with all the Trump supporters who have been fine with all the sexism and racism, threats, claiming Obama is a muslim commie, etc. who are now saying, “It’s time to shut up and get on board. We all have to work together.” Huh. What changed? Fuck that.

He’s like the guy who catcalls women and assures everyone that the women all totally love it and he always gets smiles and laughs.

“We’re stronger when you shut the fuck up and do what I tell you.”
