Tonight, after my Zumba class, I honed in on a white woman telling someone about her trip to NYC, and how she and her fellow husband in white visited “North Manhattan” and how cool and culturally diverse it was. She started talking about taking a tour of the Apollo, and I blurted, “You mean HARLEM???” This heifer was

Can we stop pretending that queer antagonism in the black community is white racist myth? The black community stateside and elsewhere is socially conservative. Our social conservative plays a role in our sense of moral superiority over white folks who do the things we consider as a group deviant.

Every time someone mentions the McDonald’s hot coffee case dismissively, I know that they have no idea what they are talking about.

100% the misrepresentative of this case has been one of the greatest lies sold to the American people by corporations.

Now playing

This should clear up the myth of the coffee case.

It didn’t malfunction. After being warned that they were serving their coffee at dangerous temps, McDonalds didn’t give a crap and just kept serving it that hot.

Have you ever actually looked at the coffee case? The machine malfunctioned and the woman had3rd degree burns and needed skin grafts. I get that it’s fun to joke about but that woman had long lasting consequence from a corporation that chose to save a few hundred dollars over fixing a machine they knew was broken.

Wow. This is funny. Thanks for supplying some hilarity into an otherwise dreary Saturday night. Dismissing an entire art form as exclusionary because you have not taken the time to understand the complexity of it is what the Internet is all about. Some good stuff there.

Cis-gender people playing transpeople isn’t like blackface or whitewashing.

There is a word for that, actually. It’s “frottage”.

As a Brit with an interest in African politics, I can tell you that politically, no one’s really given a toss about Zimbabwe over here for nearly 40 years. The whole Rhodesia situation was a political embarrassment since the UDI back in the 60's as the UK govt was trying to push for majority rule as part of the UK’s

A lot of what you say is true but it applies only to the shallow trappings of the event, not to the art form itself, and ultimately applies only to those who choose to partake.

Have you spoken to any Zimbabweans about this? Every Zimbabwean I have communicated with since this started (none of them white, by the way) is elated.

22 is not a baby. We need to stop giving famous people passes when they act like idiots just because they are under 40. They are adults and we should treat them as such.

Saying I went to Safeway when I meant Giant is misspeaking. Jokingly asking a group of people who died when you walk into a room because they all look like they lost their best friend and learning someone DID actually die is having a social miscue. Shredding an original document when I meant to shred the copy is a

She didn’t “misspeak” - what said is in line with what she believes and her upbringing. Her blunder is putting it out for the internet to judge and cancel her career.

If he raped someone, physical assaulted them (not miming it at 2am on a flight, but actually doing it), coerced them into something, okay I get you. This isn’t that.

Not to mention the fact that if the Dems get the House and have grounds to impeach the Big Orange Nazi, the trial will be in the Senate. Telling Franken to step down means removing a potential juror and possibly helping Trump escape accountability. Now the millennials may begin to understand why most Democrats stood

So the mistake is in honoring and sticking to principles even when it hurts?

We should be holding up everyone to the same standards against sexual assault, no matter what their political beliefs are.
