All those options and all I wanted was just the i30 N with its normal 4 doors layout...

I know the perfect voice for this trailer...

Yeah I totally missed this mostly due to the new layout on Jalopnik. That homepage format is making A LOT of articles get missed by me...

I’m still scheming on how to get a convertible for my next car. However, with a baby on the way and a house for the next big payment, it’s not looking like it’ll come anytime soon...

There are pockets, but it’s not that bad unless you get outside of the suburbs into the rural area. I live in Canton. You’ll see one every now and then, but it’s worse in places like Grand Rapids and Northern Michigan.

Or at minimum, will it FEEL faster than the FiST. That midrange torque dip does a huge disservice, especially with the FiST turbos giving it a big midrange shove.

There are tons (relative to the rest of the country) of Ford employee lease Flexes here in SE Michigan that are just commuter cars or child haulers. Those ones wont be beat up nearly as much as an enthusiast would have. (Unless the children were monsters....)

I’m watching that series right now. Considering how early in the prototype timeline those cars were, I’m shocked. I’ve driven similarly super early prototype Mustangs that needed constant throttle at idle to keep it running. Color me impressed at the Rivians.

Awesome to see the company employees openly participating in the comments section!

So this song isn’t a favorite. Heck, I haven’t listened to it in YEARS. But this song will always remind me of high school nights in my Prelude or my brother’s (badly) modded Civic going a bit too fast, revving a bit too high, and just enjoying the car on open roads. I was definitely in the Need For Speed Underground

I rarely listen to it, but sometimes you just need a little Eurobeat to make the road PERFECT (Revving to redline is required :D)

Yeah that sounds about right from my experience.

What do you think about the Polestar 2? Other than being pricier than I’d want, I think it represents a good option for those who don’t want an Model 3.

I’m totally in that box of loving most of Tesla except for all the Tesla crap that keeps me from touching them with a 10 foot pole.

There’s phases. There’s the actual prototypes that are built at the prototype plant (usually 1 or 2 build events there), then there are the ones at the plant on the line. There’s trialing all the new tools and there’s simulated production speed builds. Each are necessary to eventually get to full mass production. If

I honestly think that the products like the Mach E (no matter how terrible the name is) will help with the normalization and spread of EV’s. Tesla has its cult followers, but I know plenty of interested people who don’t want to deal with everything that comes with Tesla ownership. I’m not saying Ford is the paradigm

If I had a full 2+ car garage, I could totally see myself owning an EV for all the day to day and around town stuff. I find the few EV’s I’ve driven more exciting than the vast majority of automatic transmission cars, so if I’m in a position where I couldn’t have my precious manual, I’d go EV (knowing my wife will

EPA certification usually happens towards the end of a launch if I remember correctly. I worked on the launch of the diesel F150 and we didn’t hear of the EPA cert the entire time I was there (I got moved to a different area right before the cars became saleable). There are usually a few hundred cars built up during

I actually really love the cross traffic detection when I’m reversing (works with the reverse camera). While it does give some false positives, it has come in handy so many times in parking lots when I’m pulling out and I get warned of someone speeding past. Not totally camera, but part of a camera system.
