Yeah it looks like it was designed by another company trying to knock off mazda design

the very shape of the control itself, constrained as it is to up and down motions”
In design parlance this is referred to as an affordance (how the size, shape, range of motion, etc. of an object suggest how it can be operated). As a UI designer I love this kind of stuff

I hope both the driver and Tesla are punished significantly so that more people are careful about using autopilot and Tesla stops being so loose with it’s marketing around the system capabilities

I would be first in line for a PHEV Ridgeline

As both a Volt and Bolt owner I still think there’s a place for PHEVs. My ideal do everything setup would be a small low range (150 miles is enough) EV for errands and commuting and a PHEV midsize truck or CUV for family hauling and road trips

I dunno the proportions on this thing seem goofy to me. It looks like a humpback whale.

Yes. See Fiat 500e, Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, Mazda MX-30. They’re called compliance cars

Calm down fan boy he was making fun of Fisker

I like the Mercedes shot as well though I think composition would be better if there was a little more car in the frame and the generator in the background was left out. Just a little constructive feedback. Kudos on getting out there and shooting

I agree the Bolt EUV is the closest competitor. I think the tradeoff here is more design and eco friendly image with the tradeoff of course being range. As a current two car household including a Bolt, I’m going to seriously consider the MX-30 when our Bolt lease expires.

Also an actual designer (though not a graphic/logo designer). I immediately thought of how the whitespace is going to overtake the text and how the arrow will be indistinguishable when scaled down. Logos don’t need to legible at favicon size to be successful, but this isn’t going to look good at any size smaller than

Not as prominently featured, but equally bad ass sounding - the Broncos used in No Country for Old Men

Well it did get it’s comeuppance in Blade

As a Bolt owner I’m really not worried or inconvenienced. We leased ours and love it. I kind of regret not just buying it. So much for the buyback option at the end of the lease as I’m sure all this is going to cause residual value to plummet

What do you want a front end that you can watch Netflix on? The design is far from random. It’s intended to be a detail, not a feature

I loved my little Astra. It was my first new car purchase and then Saturn was shuttered the month after I bought it. It was slow, but handled decently around corners. Had Saturn survived maybe we would have seen the OPC version rebadged here as an Astra Redline. Taking it to the Chevy dealerships for maintenance was

Genesis does a nice job with scale and proportion, but then they go overboard with the design flourishes. That upside down fu manchu and then the zig zag floating roofline. What are those?

That’s really the only thing holding me back from purchasing this car. I want to hold out for the hybrid but the fact that Hyundai is being cagey about the release date of the hybrid makes me think they’re prepared to pull the plug on it if the gas version doesn’t sell well. Seems like such a missed opportunity to not

I’m not one for over the top design, but in this case I agree. Seemed like this was an opportunity to push design boundaries but it already looks about 10 years old

I don’t understand how these are still relevant when most cars let you open door with key in your pocket. Feel like I’m missing something obvious
