That’s unlikely due to the miniscule amount of smoke that it will generate. Also, the smoke ring has nothing to do with flavor or quality of the end result. Chasing a smoke ring is pointless, IDGAF if KCBS judges use it for criteria, it’s meaningless. 

Not everyone has room or save space for an outdoor live fire smoker but I can’t imagine this unit will produce much different results than using some powdered or liquid smoke in a brine and/or rub followed by a low/slow oven cook.

NIF was always a research endeavor to learn/test building on decades of predecesor experiments, not prototype a practical application.

Is anyone else irritated that the LLNL NIF result in 2022 is called a “net energy gain” when that’s only if you look at the energy the actual laser pulses hitting the target are factored in. The total energy needed to GENERATE those laser pulses far exceeds the fusion energy output.
